Welcome to today’s episode of Dawah around the World – Manufacturing opinion.

The Times Newspaper published an article entitled ‘Extremists Hizb ut-Tahrir targeting inner-city youth in Birmingham,’ where many weak and baseless accusations were made following the widespread attention received for the campaign – ‘If you stand for nothing, you’ll fall for anything.’

The article attempted to malign and slander the Hizb’s name but far from it – it was nowhere as close. It was a terrible effort which proved their ignorance and poor understanding of journalism. It claimed that the Hizb is an extremist group, having used this campaign as a ‘recruitment drive’ and are linked to terrorism!

Really, all that resonated until the end was;

Anyone who questions the validity of secularism is an ‘extremist’!!! And, anyone speaking out against the flaws of the current capitalist system is a terrorist!!!

It should be clear and open that when labels such as ones used in this article are used – ultimately, it shows the level of desperation and feeling threatened by the challenging ideas and thoughts. Therefore, they do everything in their power to avoid and prevent such scrutiny and debate.

It is no secret that Hizb ut-Tahrir is banned in some countries. The article tried to use this to show the nature of its work being worthy of banning. It’s a known FACT, Hizb ut Tahrir are a global party working purely for the return of the Islamic Khilafah system based upon the method of Rasool Allah SAW, which has no room whatsoever for any violence or use of physical might.

HOWEVER, we are well aware of selective reporting for those with an agenda. What The times FAILED to INSTEAD inform its reader about IS the reality of these countries who are mostly repressive dictatorships using the label of ‘extremism‘ to abduct, torture and even kill political critics of the system!!!

The British government, their institutes and the media use bullying tactics to silence criticism. This is why there is a true need for this campaign, which is based around challenging the dominant thinking about secular society and its impact within the UK and across the world! Everyone deserves the opportunity to really discuss and debate these fundamental ideas that society is founded upon! Everyone – Muslim and non-Muslim- should feel confident and strong in their beliefs, come forward and have healthy debate and dialogue – without any feeling of intimidation or threat!

IT all proves that this article was a FAILED attempt in manufacturing opinion to aid the government’s renewed efforts to get greater powers to silence dissenting voices!!

Articles like these reads like a masterclass in misleading propaganda, which sadly we won’t be seeing the last of. It’s a way to silence and suppress the strong voice which prove extremely dangerous in exposing their values and ideas! What they forget are the strong words of Allah SWT

وَقُلْ جَاءَ الْحَقُّ وَزَهَقَ الْبَاطِلُ إِنَّ الْبَاطِلَ كَانَ زَهُوقًا

And say: "Truth (i.e. Islamic Monotheism or this Quran or Jihad against polytheists) has come and Batil (falsehood, i.e. Satan or polytheism, etc.) has vanished. Surely! Batil is ever bound to vanish."  Surah Al-Isra verse 81

May Allah SWT help us all to remain strong against those who work against the truth and ITS RETURN. Ameen
