Anyone that has been following the situation of the Muslims in China is acutely aware of the suffering of the Uighur Muslims in China’s western Xinjiang province.

The stories are horrendous.

Students, peaceful academics and even ordinary people are being jailed for the simple reason they are Muslims. There is a massive high-tech surveillance state that monitors and judges every movement, subjecting the widely marginalised Uyghur people to a brutal siege.

The Chinese atheist regime is one of the most oppressive regimes from those across the globe which has not only been forcefully suppressing political Islam, even the Islamic rituals have not been spared.

Al Jazeera reported on the 6th January that after a meeting with representatives from eight Islamic associations, government officials "agreed to guide Islam to be compatible with socialism and implement measures to Sinicize the religion." The idea is to rewrite how islam is practised within the next five years.

Already social media has reported of more than one million Uyghur prisoners being held in internment camps, which the government calls quote-unquote “vocational training centers”. Here the detained are forced to denounce Islam and pledge allegiance to the officially atheist ruling Communist Party.

Religious education, and fasting in the month of Ramadan has already been restricted or banned for many years. Those who disobey are reportedly subject to torture such as solitary confinement, deprivation of food, water and sleep, and even waterboarding.

This is on top of making the Muslims eat pork, forcing them to declare their wealth comes from China not Allah, preventing young girls from wearing hijab or men from keeping a beard, forcing them to sell alcohol and much more of similar oppression and mental torture. Uyghur Muslim women are also being forced into marriage to non Muslim Chinese men.

How is it that our traitorous rulers can sit by and watch this happen?

The shameless regimes do not utter a word against China and its brutal treatment of Muslims. What is worse, some even deport Uighur Muslims who escaped the oppression of the savage Chinese government back to China under the guise of quote-unquote “counter terrorism.” While the traitors that lead the Muslim countries turn a blind eye to the oppression of Muslims in China, a true Islamic leadership would exert its influence; political, economic, and even military to make it clear to China that those actions will not go unnoticed; from economic sanctions, to cutting off diplomatic ties, to opening the borders and welcoming refugees, to even sending an army to liberate the Muslims of China from their oppressive government, a true leader, at the helm of the Khilafah will make it a priority to defend the Muslims no matter where they live on the face of the earth.
