Capitalism is the Cause, Oppression is the Result!

The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye raised the interest rate to 46 percent. Thus, the central bank increased the interest by 350 basis points. The central bank made the following statement: "The possible effects of increasing protectionist tendencies in global trade on the disinflation process through global economic activity, commodity prices and capital flows are closely monitored. Inflation expectations and pricing behavior continue to be a risk factor for the disinflation process." (Agencies, 19.04.2025)

Comment:

Capitalism, which rises as an economic system based on private property, in which all individual means of profit are seen as legitimate and self-interest is the engine of the system, is the disaster of humanity. In particular, the devastation and destruction caused by this system in terms of justice, rights, law and moral values has become irreparable. Today, humanity is clearly experiencing the oppression caused by capitalism. This system, which sees human beings only as a means of production and consumption and almost robotizes them, is the wheel of exploitation of a handful of minorities.

The economic cost of the destruction caused by the capitalist system in the Islamic geography on the social, political, economic and religious level is too great to be explained by any mathematical data. Unfortunately, the destruction of values far exceeds the bounds of reason. Despite these facts, the rulers who still maintain this system of oppression "do not reason" in the language of the verses.

Despite the fact that President Erdoğan has been saying "interest is the cause, inflation is the result" for years, he has neither refrained from interest in the economy nor fallen behind in increasing it. In fact, although this discourse did not even have an economic equivalent, it was sold to the public as hope for a while. Indeed, as Erdoğan said, if interest is the cause and inflation is the result, why does he give the labor, earnings and food of the people to banks and interest lobbies by increasing them? It is known that the to be given only until the end of 2025 will be over 51 billion dollars at today's exchange rate. The government, which has passed the cost of the economic crises caused by political calculations and political disputes, is shameless enough to rub getting out of this process with interest and loans in the face of the people as a success.  Rulers who do not see a system in which the country's resources are mortgaged by usurers and the people are dragged into misery as a problem, and who divert them with its consequences, should know that they are betraying the right and the people. Interest is the capitalist system's means of exploiting and enslaving peoples. It is no longer time for "more production, unlimited consumption, working for insatiable gluttons", but for "a fairer distribution and sharing".  The oppression of the rulers who serve as battering rams for this enslavement can only be ended by changing the very system they use to oppress. As Muslims, our struggle today is not limited to interest alone, but to overthrow the capitalist system – the source of all evil, and the forerunner of oppression and corruption – and to establish in its place Islam’s mercy-laden system of government, through which we can achieve true revival, justice, peace, and security. The System of Islam is the only system that will realize this revival.
