The Cure for Capitalism and Its Colonialism in the Muslim World is Islam and Its Dawah and Jihad

On 15 September 2026, Ambassador Kate Foster, UK Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, at the UN Security Council meeting on Yemen stated, “In recent days the Houthis have continued their reckless attacks against Saudi Arabia, escalated military operations inside Yemen, and further endangered international shipping and regional stability. The United Kingdom strongly condemns these actions.” (Source)

Comment:

At a time that Iran is pursuing an independent course, having orbited US foreign policy for decades, the British deep state has become active in trying to exploit the changing regional situation, including the territories within which Iran has proxies, of which Yemen is but one. In addition, the British deep state is aware that the U.S. is using the regional instability to strike at its competitors, China and Europe, whilst progressing towards its goal of a “New Middle East” that is dominated by the agents and followers of Washington to the exclusion of all others. The U.S. itself is insulated from the escalating crisis due to its distance from the region, its own strategic oil reserves and its new looting of the oil reserves of Venezuela, whilst Trump pursues the policy of Biden, of lighting fires throughout the world in order so that the ailing and frail American state remains the last man standing. Now, it would be a fatal mistake for any Muslim state to regard the British activeness as an opportunity to balance with the demands of the Americans. The logic of “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” certainly does not apply when the choice is between colonialist disbelievers.

The British are no less harmful than the Americans in their machinations against the Islamic Ummah. In fact, the British once were the dominant colonialist presence within the lands of Muslims, including Yemen and Iran, before the Americans displaced them to the margins of most of the Muslim states. The English are practiced in the exploitation of other peoples, having occupied many lands of Muslims for decades, or even centuries, and did not even spare the Welsh, the Irish and the Scots. As for the Americans, although a strand of their deep state has English lineage, they do not share in the British colonialist experience substantially, because of their early migration from Britain and subsequent war of independence against Britain. However, being an ingenious people, the Americans learnt quickly and surpassed the English in colonialist exploitation, when they had the opportunity. Thus, after the Second World War, when Britain made the mistake of inviting the U.S. to enter the Middle East through fear of Soviet Russia, it found itself on the margins of most of the states of Muslims, within decades.

Looking in desperately from the outside, Britain now seethes in anger as even the rulers of Jordan and the United Arab Emirates are making tributes and pledges to the Americans, whilst its own economy collapses and it scrambles to develop its military. Britain covets the huge reserves of Rare Earth Elements (REEs) in Yemen as much as the US does. It has its own specific vision for controlling the political medium of Yemen, as America does. So, if Allah (swt) caused one of the enemies of the believers to strike another enemy of the believers, why must we open the doors to the stricken?

The thinking of balancing between the major colonialist powers is fundamentally flawed. It is flawed whether the thinking is about balancing the American state with the British state, or the American state with the Chinese state or any other combination of disbelieving colonialist states. The character of each of these colonialist powers is essentially the same. They are capitalist states with a foreign policy of colonialism, whether they are dealing with a Muslim state like Pakistan or a non-Muslim state like Thailand. The colonialist states only make alliances and pacts with a target state in order to subjugate and exploit it militarily, economically and politically. They regard the assets of a target state, whether the raw materials, markets or armies, as subjects for exploitation. They invest heavily in the ruling factions of the target states, through allowing huge levels of financial corruption as a bribe, amongst other styles. As an example of the British investment in agents, its former agent in Yemen, Ali Abdullah Saleh, amassed up to $60bn through corruption during his 33 years in power. And this is in a country where the hospitals are so ill-equipped that relatives must not only provide food for patients, they must also provide furniture! Moreover, in the case of the Islamic Ummah, it must be noted that when the colonialists target a Muslim state, their centuries of crusader hatred manifests as a particular cruelty in dealings.

O People of Power in the Muslim World! Regarding the weak attempts of the British to struggle against the American plan for Yemen and the Middle East, do not make the mistake of falling into calculating on the basis of “the lesser of two evils.” Why must we settle for the lesser of two evils, when the lesser evil is an evil that we cannot bear? Moreover, as Muslims, why must we settle for the lesser of two evils, when there is a good before us - that of our Deen and its ruling governance? The Muslim World is in ruin, decline, economic misery and foreign policy humiliation because of capitalism and its colonialism. However, under Islam and its Dawah and Jihad, the Islamic State was the leading state, without rival, for six centuries, between the twelfth and eighteen centuries? So, why must we accept exploitation at the hands of the American disbelievers, who have only been the undeserving leading state without rival for decades? And why on earth would we turn to London, Paris, Moscow or Beijing, who all adopted capitalism and its colonialism and would do no less harm if they were in the place of Washington. Allah (swt) said,

[لَّا يَتَّخِذِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الْكَافِرِينَ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِن دُونِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۖ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَ اللَّهِ فِي شَيْءٍ] “Let not the believers take the disbelievers as allies instead of the believers; and whoever does that has nothing to do with Allah.” [TMQ Surah Aali Imran: 28].

Thus, Hizb ut Tahrir demands your nussrah (military support) for the empowerment of the Deen, the establishment of the Khilafah Rashidah (rightly-guided Caliphate) and the resumption of Dawah and Jihad. Fear Allah (swt) Alone and respond!
