The Armies of Muslims Must Be Gathered Under One Imam to Fight the Enemies of the Ummah

On 21 September 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Pakistan announced that the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Türkiye, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates “unequivocally condemn “Israel’s” continued illegal settlement policies in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.” (MOFA Pakistan)

Comment:

Firstly: Condemnations are for politicians, ulema, and journalists, not commanders of armed forces. The combined armed forces of these eight Muslim states have 2,532,550 troops. Under one leadership, they would be the largest armed forces in the entire world. However, the rulers of Muslims prevent military support of Gaza, even though Allah (swt) commanded,

[وَإِنِ اسْتَنْصَرُوكُمْ فِي الدِّينِ فَعَلَيْكُمُ النَّصْرُ]

“If they seek your support for the Deen, then you must help.” [TMQ Surat Al-Anfal 8:72].

Secondly: “Israel” itself, in its entirety, is occupied land of Muslims. Islam rejects the two-state solution because it surrenders most of Palestine to the Jewish entity. However, the rulers call for the two-state solution, even though Allah (swt) commanded,

[وَأَخْرِجُوهُم مِّنْ حَيْثُ أَخْرَجُوكُمْ]

“Expel them from wherever they have expelled you.” [TMQ Surah Al-Baqarah 2:191].

Thirdly: The rulers of the Muslim World will never fight the Jewish entity because they are secular nationalists who do not rule by Islam, whilst serving the interests of the disbelievers. The Ummah and its armies must remove them and establish the Khilafah Rashidah (rightly-guided Caliphate) that will liberate the Blessed Land of Palestine from the river to the sea. The Prophet (saw) said, «إنَّما الإمامُ جُنَّةٌ يُقاتَلُ مِن ورائِه ويُتَّقى به» “The Imam alone is a shield, from behind whom the Muslims fight and by whom Muslims are protected.” [Muslim]

O Muslims and Their ‘Ulema!

Imam An-Nawawi (rh) said in his Sharh (Explanation) of Muslim, (قَوْله صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: (الْإِمَام جُنَّة) أَيْ: كَالسِّتْرِ؛ لِأَنَّهُ يَمْنَع الْعَدُوّ مِنْ أَذَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ، وَيَمْنَع النَّاس بَعْضهمْ مِنْ بَعْض، وَيَحْمِي بَيْضَة الْإِسْلَام، وَيَتَّقِيه النَّاس وَيَخَافُونَ سَطْوَته، وَمَعْنَى يُقَاتَل مِنْ وَرَائِهِ أَيْ: يُقَاتَل مَعَهُ الْكُفَّار وَالْبُغَاة وَالْخَوَارِج وَسَائِر أَهْل الْفَسَاد وَالظُّلْم مُطْلَقًا، وَالتَّاء فِي (يُتَّقَى) مُبْدَلَة مِنْ الْوَاو لِأَنَّ أَصْلهَا مِنْ الْوِقَايَة) “Regarding the saying of the Prophet (saw), “The Imam is a shield” (junnah): it means a protective covering, for he prevents the enemy from harming the Muslims, restrains people from harming one another, and safeguards the integrity of Islam; furthermore, people are wary of him and fear his authority. As for the phrase “fighting from behind him,” it means fighting alongside him against disbelievers, rebels, the Kharijites, and all other agents of corruption and injustice. The letter “ta” in the word “yuttaqa” is a substitute for the letter “waw,” as the word’s root is “wiqayah” (protection).”

Demand that our armies mobilize for the liberation of Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa after removing the only obstacle in their way: the rulers of Muslims. Indeed, the Khilafah Rashidah (rightly-guided Caliphate) on the Method of the Prophethood alone will end the occupation of Muslim lands and defeat the attacking disbelievers.
