US withdraws remaining troops from Iraq. (Source)
Comment:
The Pentagon announced today, Wednesday, September 30, that it had completed the withdrawal of all U.S. forces from Iraq. The final American troops departed from an air base in northern Iraq under an agreement reached between the United States and the puppet Iraqi government.
The United States occupied Iraq in 2003, bringing an unfathomable level of death and destruction to the country and its people. The war caused widespread ruin and exploitation across Iraq. In the aftermath of the invasion, Iraq’s wealth and resources were looted. Its oil industry was restructured to serve foreign interests. Its nuclear potential was dismantled. Its people were politically divided along sectarian lines, and corruption became deeply entrenched.
In the midst of the occupation, some of the most brutal crimes were committed, while a political elite emerged that bowed to American dictates. Politicians were cultivated within the Green Zone to carry out policies that even the Americans were too ashamed to impose directly upon the people of Iraq.
So now America militarily withdraws. But after what? After a total of 48 agreements, memoranda of understanding, cooperation agreements, and partnership declarations were signed between public- and private-sector entities in Iraq and the United States. Agreements that surrender Iraq’s political, economic, and strategic interests to American influence.
The withdrawal will still allow for Iraqi security forces to be managed remotely through diplomatic channels, intelligence sharing, and standard international defense partnerships rather than stationed combat or training troops.
So, the U.S. withdrawal is like a murderer leaving a crime scene believing that his departure will make the murder disappear. But the crime scene remains, filled with evidence of their destruction—and of a system designed to ensure that Iraq remains within an extended sphere of American abuse and exploitation.
Only a Khilafah (Caliphate) is capable of ridding Iraq of this U.S.-planted governing system and political class that serves the interests of the colonizers above those of its people.
Only the Khilafah can sever these agreements and fully tap into Iraq’s resources and potential. Only the Khilafah can send the U.S. fleeing from our lands—physically, militarily, politically, and economically.
Only the Khilafah can provide the people of Iraq, and the Ummah at large, with a blueprint for building an independent and sovereign entity—one that stems from their aqeedah (creed) rather than from the military barracks of Baghdad’s former Green Zone.
