The Security Agreement With the Jews Is a Dangerous Slide Toward the Bottom of the Abyss!

Syria’s transitional president, Ahmad al-Sharaa, made dubious statements when he announced that the ongoing negotiations with the Jewish entity could lead to a security agreement in the coming days. He considered such an agreement a “necessity,” provided it respects Syria’s territorial integrity and is subject to UN oversight. He also revealed that the two sides were only days away from reaching the basis for such an agreement last July, had developments in the Sweida province not disrupted the process.

The mere proposal of a security agreement with the Jewish entity represents a retreat and deviation from the fundamental principles of the Ummah to begin with. The conflict between the Ummah and the Jews is a historical, ideological conflict, as they are. in origin, attacking aggressors who occupied the lands of Muslims and fought the people of ash-Sham, who are an integral part of the Islamic Ummah. There are lands occupied by Jews in the past, and then new lands were occupied after the escape of the head of the regime, Bashar al-Assad. Moreover, the Jews committed massacres against the people of ash-Sham, from Daraa to al-Kiswa and elsewhere. Furthermore, it contradicts the principles of the Sham Revolution and the slogans chanted by the people of ash-Sham during their revolution, namely that Al-Quds (Jerusalem) and Gaza come after Damascus. Furthermore, this agreement constitutes a betrayal of the blood of the martyrs who died confronting this occupying entity.

The Jewish entity has never been a neighbor seeking security and stability. Instead, it is an expansionist settlement project that, from the time of its occupation of Palestine until today, has never ceased conspiring against the Islamic Ummah, occupying its land, and killing its people. How can it be justified in granting it a certificate of innocence through a security agreement that legitimizes its existence, and grants it an additional foothold within Syria’s interior?

What is called “necessity” today is nothing more than a reproduction of the logic promoted by defeatist, agent regimes over the past decades, when they raised the slogan “peace is a strategic option,” leading to the Oslo and Wadi Araba Accords, which brought neither security nor peace to their peoples, but instead humiliation, subordination, and strategic exposure.

Any talk about the “necessity” of an agreement with the Jews is nothing more than a cover for surrender and a guarantee of the interests of the international powers sponsoring their project.

As for the claim that the agreement with the Jews would have been reached had the events in Sweida not disrupted it, is that true?! It’s as if the crisis within Syria is being used as a pressurizing tactic to accelerate concessions to the Jews! Linking the domestic issue to a Jewish project is a doubled political crime, as it aims to mislead public opinion into believing that domestic security will not be restored without the approval of the Jewish entity. Meanwhile, the stark reality confirms that the danger lies in foreign interventions and secessionist partition projects, which the Jews have always been at the heart of.

Considering and following what has happened and is happening, this path cannot be separated from America, especially since it is the one that took the lead in handling the Sweida file, and it is the one that spoke on more than one occasion about the Abraham Accords. Yes, America is the bearer of the Abraham Accords project, and it has been pushing for years to engineer and arrange it, bringing the region into the circle of comprehensive normalization with the Jewish entity. Today, Syria is wanted to be pushed into the same circle, but under the guise of a “security agreement” that is being marketed as an internal need. The reality is that America does not desire stability in Syria as much as it seeks to make it an arena of security exposure, where the airspace, borders, and decisions are subject to the control and conditions of the Jewish entity.

These serious repercussions, which is the security agreement with the Jews, mean:

- It undermines the concept of sovereignty as Syria becomes a regional and international threat. It also deprives it of the ability to discuss the Ummah’s issues and what is happening within it, especially if the other party is the Jews. There will be no talk of liberation, of lifting injustice, or of dignity. Instead, all stances will be of condemnation, denunciation, and a call for self-restraint!

- Legitimizing the existence of a Jewish entity, and giving it implicit recognition of its role in the security of the region, will also present the state as a subservient authority that has no control over its own affairs.

Ahmad al-Sharaa would have been more appropriate to state that the constants are inviolable, and that the fundamental constant in the awareness of the Ummah is that the Jews are an occupying entity, undeserving of Shariah legitimacy and not entrusted with security or borders. This entity is treacherous in every detail and criminal in every detail. Therefore, the current administration should know that any attempt to beautify its image, through security agreements or partial understandings, means compromising the constants, and selling stances for the lowest possible price. No politician, regardless of their stance, has the mandate to compromise these principles.

Syria today is at a dangerous crossroads. It is either to reject any settlement with the Jewish entity, or slide into agreements that will keep it as it was under the rule of the Assad family, a servile subservient to America. Everyone must now shoulder their responsibility in this regard, take a stand, and raise their voices loudly in rejection of this agreement. What will be passed off under the banner of “security” is nothing more than a cover for the hegemony sought by the Jewish entity.

Know that true security is not imported from an abusive enemy. Instead, it is created by adhering to principles first, and then by relying on the incubator that has made great sacrifices.

Know that history is witness to the fact that all agreements of humiliation have fallen, and with them those who concluded them have fallen.
