News Right Now: A Symbol of Resistance

Welcome to this episode, “A Symbol of Resistance’...

Eight years ago on the 11th of May... our brother Naveed Butt, the official spokesperson of Hizb Ut Tahrir and advocate of the Khilafah in Pakistan, was abducted in broad daylight in front of his young children near his home.

Since that day he has been confined to the prisons of the Pakistani secret services, and unheard of. Naveed Butt was abducted whilst leading the campaign of Hizb ut Tahrir to strongly account the rulers for releasing the American spy and assassin Raymond Davis, who had shot two innocent civilians in broad daylight. But beyond the specific incident with Davis, lay an insidious network of Pakistani collusion with the CIA at the highest levels which framed the context of Naveed Butt’s resistance.

The then Interior Minister Chaudry Nisar had told the National Assembly that up to one thousand local properties were being used by foreign intelligence services,... Americans in particular. And Davis’ arrest confirmed his own, and scores of other CIA operatives living in Islamabad, as involved in yet another secretive branch of Xi (zee) Services... previously known as Blackwater. Renowned for their covert operations against any suspected ‘extreme’ or ‘jihadi’ activity, Blackwater a trigger happy mob of mercenaries, full of hatred for Islam and the Muslims, were let loose in both rural and urban area of Pakistan.

The killing and mayhem their operations produced,.. served only to divide and confuse Pakistani society about the nature of their true friends, hidden enemies and who the real ‘terrorists’ were. Through several false flag operations and killings under the guise of providing homeland security... these networks even armed and provided intelligence to certain misguided groups. Jeeps fully equipped with automatic weapons and bombs carried out black op’s... and local law enforcement regularly turned a blind eye, giving them a free hand to carry out their crimes. These American ‘security’ agents were more like double agents, also undermining Pakistan’s own secret services and threatening its nuclear capability.

Despite the wicked agenda of the US via the CIA and in covering up Blackwater’s and the Raymond Davis network's activities, a succession of Pakistan’s governments has continued in Musharraf's footsteps of embracing the US as agents of homeland security... whilst obediently peddling the Western narrative of the war on terror.. and embracing its position against so-called ‘radical Islamism’. And aside from the drone wars and financial enslavement... in 2011 the Gilani governments failure to be aware of - let alone be involved in.. the US attack in Abbottabad - exposed the extent of Pakistan’s slavery to America. So in recognising the wider context, we can see that the actions of our dear brother Naveed Butt are truly heroic.

Naveed Butt stood up to American interference in Pakistan with a sound aqeeda and detailed knowledge of US foreign policy and its hegemonic escapades in the Middle East and beyond. Given the US-led wars on Afghanistan and Iraq, his bravery in confronting oppression and the duplicitous nature of the Western powers.. increased his conviction to call for the implementation of Islam in Pakistan and protect its good people from the colonialist strategies which spread fitna and fasad.. unrest and corruption...

He understood clearly Allah swt words in Surah Al Baqarah verse 217:

[... وَالۡفِتۡنَةُ اَکۡبَرُ مِنَ الۡقَتۡلِ ]

“Fitnah is worse than killing...”

Brother Naveed ‘s conviction is a symbol of resistance against imperialist, warmongering nations like the US... who roam the world stripping nations of their own authority, undermining their values and customs, reforming religious principles, to be in line with their own sordid values of Capitalist hegemony... which pillages human and natural resources alike, leaving once independent countries broke and broken, with only a set of deals and agreements to further tie them to their own ruin.

Our brother Naveed actualised the Tawheed we all claim... by standing firmly as our beloved Rasool saws and the Sahaba RA did against Taghout - the false authority of the Quraysh and their polytheistic belief. Brother Naveed too has stood resolutely against the falsehood of Secular Capitalism and its insidious web of institutions that span the globe spreading harm, injustice and oppression wherever they reach. Today Pakistan's latest government, the Bajwa-Imran regime continues to ignore the production order of the Missing Person Commission. The case of brother Naveed Butt confirms that the current system is blind when it comes to justice for Muslims, springing to life only to serve the colonialists and their stooges.

Raymond Davis, the cold-blooded killer, was unduly released from jail... the way in which the Bajwa Imran regime dutifully and quickly returned the attacking Indian fighter pilot Abhinandan to India, out of compassion for his family.. shows exactly how feeble the Islamic principle of walaa and baraa - meaning kindness towards the believers and harshness towards the disbelievers... is understood and practised by this government as well. They continue to heartlessly deny Brother Naveed even a single phone call to his family in eight years, as well as ignoring the production order for Naveed Butt out of compliance with the ever-present, if not obvious American stranglehold over the country.

The Muslims of Pakistan must remember that their loyalty lies, not with belief systems that contradict Islam in their origin and practice.. nor the people who rule by anything other than what Allah swt has revealed.

Rather loyalty has been explained in detail in the Quran and the Sunnah of our beloved Rasool Allah (saw).... And based upon His swt’s command - loyalty is extended to His swt’s Deen and our fellow Muslim brothers and sisters...

Furthermore, it is mandatory that we support, liberate and give every help and assistance to Muslim individuals and the Ummah in any given situation.

Allah (swt) says:

[يٰۤـاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا لَا تُحِلُّوۡا شَعَآئِرَ اللّٰهِ وَلَا الشَّهۡرَ الۡحَـرَامَ وَلَا الۡهَدۡىَ وَلَا الۡقَلَٓاـئِدَ وَلَاۤ آٰمِّيۡنَ الۡبَيۡتَ الۡحَـرَامَ يَبۡـتَغُوۡنَ فَضۡلًا مِّنۡ رَّبِّهِمۡ وَرِضۡوَانًا ​ؕ وَاِذَا حَلَلۡتُمۡ فَاصۡطَادُوۡا​ ؕ وَلَا يَجۡرِمَنَّكُمۡ شَنَاٰنُ قَوۡمٍ اَنۡ صَدُّوۡكُمۡ عَنِ الۡمَسۡجِدِ الۡحَـرَامِ اَنۡ تَعۡتَدُوۡا​ ۘ وَتَعَاوَنُوۡا عَلَى الۡبِرِّ وَالتَّقۡوٰى​ وَلَا تَعَاوَنُوۡا عَلَى الۡاِثۡمِ وَالۡعُدۡوَانِ​ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ ​ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ شَدِيۡدُ الۡعِقَابِ]

“Help one another in acts of piety and righteousness. And do not assist each other in acts of sinfulness and transgression. And be aware of Allah. Verily, Allah is severe in punishment” Surah al Maida verse 2

In light of this, we must use our many and varied platforms to voice and expose the injustice and oppression that Naveed Butt is suffering. Contacting the sincere Ulema and notables in our communities, we can encourage the masses to call for his immediate release as well; and take on the vital responsibility to call for Islam ...and expose the harms of the Capitalists as he did.

The many golden personalities of our glorious past, were also brave and uncompromising men who prioritised the call to Islam... protected the Muslims.. and ensured the Islamic government .. the Khilafah existed to provide the security and authority as it was intended to... and it should be known that brother Naveed Butt has acted with the same noble selflessness. May Allah swt hasten his release immediately and count him as the beloved of the Saliheen.
