Eighteen Years of Occupation: Democracy has Suffered Egregious Failure in Afghanistan!

October 7 coincides the 19th anniversary of Afghanistan’s invasion and occupation – a day in which, Afghanistan was occupied 18 years ago by the US and NATO forces under the guise of ‘war on terror’ agenda along with the slogans of human rights, women’s rights, state building, nation building and democracy. Over the past 18 years of democracy, the people of Afghanistan have happened to experience none of the aforesaid so-called slogans, even the American terrorism has gravely kept taking the lives of thousands of people in the course of 18 years. Therefore, the US, NATO and their puppet rulers had initiated the peace process with a group who they used to call ‘terrorists’ on one hand, and recently have convened the Afghan presidential elections on the other hand.

Comment:

One could frankly and audaciously proclaim that the democratic values ​​have been completely rejected by the Muslims in Afghanistan. To abort the democratic system, the people of Afghanistan, therefore, have gradually dwindled their participation in the presidential elections. As shown by the figures, the people’s participation in the democratic process has witnessed a severe decline from 84% in 2004 to 39% in 2009, and from 35% in 2014 to 20% in 2019.

Furthermore, the occupation forces and the puppet rulers of Afghanistan have proven to be the only key violators of Afghan people’s human rights in Afghanistan. Only in the past five years, more than 50,000 Afghan security forces and tens of thousands of civilians and thousands of Taliban soldiers have been killed under various forms of terror. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has also stated in its recent report: “Our overview of humanitarian needs for 2019 shows that one million displaced Afghans (IDPs) are estimated to require humanitarian assistance by the end of the year.”

In addition, all measures concerning the women’s rights taken by the government, foreign institutions and embassies of infidel states have been aimed at dismantling the Muslim families in this land. Therefore, under the guise of gender equality policy, they have multiplied the women’s recruitment at all government and non-government entities and projects. In fact, they have ever wanted to use the Muslim women as tools for their own purposes like how they have manipulated the Western women. Conversely, they suffered a massive failure in this mission.

In relation to nation-and-state building, each term of the presidential and parliamentary election has caused even further division among Afghan people. Therefore, the only tangible consequence that each Afghan individual could unequivocally feel in his/her life is the division, confusion and instability among the Afghan political leaders. As a result, the leaders of various factions and groups have lost their confidence on the prevailing order of American Democracy in the society. Implementation of American Democracy has undeniably led Afghanistan to various forms of corruption, poverty, prostitution, genocide, sedition, unemployment  and have also caused the Afghans to believe that Western democratic values ​​have constantly failed to address the needs and problems of Afghans.

Seeing the aforesaid catastrophic situations, the US and its puppet rulers have failed to win the hearts and minds of Afghan people, and the Western public opinion, especially the US, is absolutely against the continuation of war in Afghanistan. Thus, the US has schemed to reduce its ‘war on terror’ agenda in Afghanistan by initiating direct talks with the Taliban in order to successfully get out of the swamp of war by ensuring that its political reputation is safeguarded as well as its intelligence, political and cultural influence is secured in Afghanistan, too.

In such a critical situation, the only solution for the Muslims of Afghanistan is to firmly reject all colonial aid packages (i.e. human values, solutions and systems) being offered either by the US, Europe, or China and Russia to Afghans and their leaders. And instead, they must cling to the values, solutions and lifeline system of Islam in order to reestablish the Khilafah (Caliphate) based on the method of Prophethood. To accomplish this, you hopefully have the largest political party of the Ummah among you which is focused on offering Islam in the course of thought and political struggles so that all contemporary problems and crises of the Ummah are addressed. So get a move on and back the largest intellectual and political party of the Ummah by taking part in awakening the Ummah.
