On 1 April 2026, the Parliament of the French-speaking Federation Wallonia-Brussels approved new rules on neutrality in education. The decree of 2 April 2026 bans visible political, philosophical and religious signs for staff in the official education system. This means that Muslim women who wear the Hijab can no longer work in many teaching and education roles covered by the decree unless they remove it.

19 people were convicted of terrorist and extremist crimes in Kazakhstan in June–August 2026, reports the press service of the National Security Committee. “In June–August 2026, in criminal cases investigated by the NSC, 19 persons were sentenced to various terms of imprisonment for committing terrorist and extremist crimes,” 

Bangladesh may be joining the defence agreement signed by Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan earlier this month. Bangladeshi State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir told reporters on Monday that his country has been invited to participate in what has become known as the Mecca pact, but did not say who extended the invitation.
