On 25 August 2026, Prothom Alo Newspaper reported, “Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam has said Bangladesh is continuing talks with Myanmar and diplomatic efforts to resolve the Rohingya refugee crisis. Bangladesh wants to create conditions that will allow the Rohingyas to return to their homeland with safety and dignity.”

Two years have passed since that historic moment when the tyrant Sheikh Hasina fled the country. For the people of Bangladesh, that was a moment of relief, but it was also a moment of deep reflection.
