Bangladesh Election Commission (EC) has decided to amend the Representation of the People Order (RPO) 1972 in order to use electronic voting machines (EVM) in the upcoming 11th national election. EC has already submitted Tk40 billion project for purchase, maintenance and use of 150,000 EVMs.

War on Graft Cannot Be Won Under Capitalism

On Tuesday, 28 August 2018, the Deputy Chief Justice of Kenya, Philomena Mwilu, was arrested in Nairobi over graft allegations. The DCJ was later taken to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations for questioning over matters of abuse of office, bribes and tax evasion. And on Wednesday, 29 August 2018, she was arraigned in Milimani Court to face those charges.

Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, on Tuesday said he has raised the issue of the blasphemous cartoon caricature competition with the Dutch foreign minister and also called upon the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to summon an urgent session for adopting a unanimous position in response to the planned Dutch blasphemous event.
