UN Special Envoy Staffan de Mistura Commented recently in the lead-up to ceasefire talks in Kazakhstan that’s it’s time for the rebel forces to recognize that they didn’t win the six and a half year long Syrian War.

The editor in chief of the paper, Maung Thway Chun, said that the threat of “Islamization” in Myanmar is a problem. He also said: “We’re not oppressing Muslims, and we recognize their existence. But we don’t want Muslims to swallow our country. (Source: The Atlantic)

On Friday 8th September, the United Nations Refugee Agency said that at least 270,000 Rohingya Muslims have fled the Rakhine State in Myanmar in the past 2 weeks to escape the bloodbath being executed by the country’s military and armed Buddhist residents in the province.

Rohingyan Muslims has hit the headlines again. This time however, the UN is warning of an imminent humanitarian catastrophe. While the world watches on, the scorched earth policy pursued by the regime in Myanmar shows little sign of abating.
