BBC reported the Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy's office, today (19/10/2017), as saying: "the cabinet would meet to activate Article 155 of the constitution, allowing it to take over running of the region.... The head of the Catalan government, Carles Puigdemont, had sent a letter to the Spanish government, threatening that the Parliament of the region will approve the referendum on the independence from Spain if Madrid continues to block dialogue and continues its repression.”

On Sunday night 08/10/2017, a naval patrol vessel that belongs to the Tunisian military crashed into a wooden boat at sea after a chase that lasted more than two hours. The boat was carrying about 100 migrants from Tunisia heading towards Italy. Dozens of Tunisian youths were killed. The bodies of eight of them were recovered, while dozens of other bodies remained on the seabed and only 38 youths survived
