On the 17th of February 2014, the Guardian Newspaper commented on the brutal murder of twenty-year-old Turkish student Ozgecan Aslan whilst she was traveling home on a bus. "Reports said Aslan pepper-sprayed the man before he stabbed her and beat her to death with an iron bar. He then enlisted the help of his father and a friend to dispose of her body in a river in Tarsus, where it was found on Friday showing evidence of burns as well as the fatal injuries." The murder has initiated one of the largest twitter campaigns to date. As of Monday, more than 440,000 tweets had been shared under the hashtag #sendeanlat (tell your story). Women have told of their experiences of violence, intimidation and harassment, and it was the third highest trending topic worldwide on Sunday 15th of February 2014. Another hashtag, #ozceganaslan, was even more popular, trending with more than 2.5m tweets,

Even with the so called Islamic political angles used by the governing AKP it is clear that there is growing concern and anger amongst thousands of Turkish women regarding their ability to live in Turkey without fear of violence or abuse. The question that comes to mind is that with all of the Turkish government's rhetoric on the protection of Islamic values such as Presidents Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's reversal of the ban on female civil servants wearing the Hijab in 2013, why is there such little progress in the safety of women? What can be done to make real permanent changes in society to give Muslim women and girls their full rights? The current adoption of the ruling party to be identified as a "conservative democracy", this gives us a clearer indication of why women are increasingly suffering under the political policies of the Turkey. The fact is that you cannot make a ‘coalition' of Islamic and non-Islamic principles. The system of Islam was revealed in a manner that must be implemented in its entirety for it to serve the purpose of solving the problems of humanity correctly. For example it is nonsensical to place a permit on women wearing Hijab publically whilst allowing the influence of liberal secular values in the advertising and entertainment mediums that exist in the country. Turkey is fast becoming an international center for the development of soap operas and drama based formats that promote the breakdown of family values, the objectification of women and the undermining of her honorable positon as a wife and mother. The economic system of Islam allows women to work, but also demands that she be maintained financially by her male relatives or the state itself, in this manner she should not be forced to undertake demeaning or slave like work practices to support herself or her children. The penal code of the Khilafah "Caliphate" would uphold the severest of punishments for domestic violence or any kind of abuse of females. The education system would teach boys that they are the guardians of women and that their role is an Islamic obligation that, if not practiced properly, would earn them the punishment of the Islamic State as well as accounting on the Day of Judgment, thus Taqwah and god-fearing motives are crucial in the social order of Islam. In the absence of a comprehensive system working in unison with all other systems all that is practiced in all of the current so called Islamic countries, is a misguided mess of policies that contradict each other and create more social ills than they solve. Allah (swt) forbids this in Surah al-Ma'idah 5:44.
((وَمَن لَّمْ يَحْكُم بِمَا أَنزَلَ اللّهُ فَأُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الْكَافِرُونَ))

The Prime Minister's office released on 6th February 2015 figures in which it was claiming the arrest of over ten thousand suspected "terrorists" under the National Action Plan, without divulging any background information on the detainees or their purported networks. The press statement did not mention any information on how and when the government intends to prosecute these ten thousand people, who have been arrested under various charges in more than fourteen thousand raids, conducted throughout the country. And all of this was since the December 2014 after an attack on Peshawar Army Public school in which more than one hundred forty people were killed in an evil attack, most of them children.
Comment
In the aftermath of Peshawar Public school attack and the subsequent announcement of National Action Plan, the Raheel-Nawaz regime started a crackdown on those fighting American forces in Afghanistan, as well as those who call for the implementation of Islam in Pakistan. They even did not spare Masjid Imams and arrested thousands of them under the Loud Speaker Act. Government agencies are chasing Madrassa students and abducting them. However, their madness reached a peak, when they raided the house of the Jegranvi family in Lahore Gulberg, a highly respectable and well known family.
The regime thugs came to arrest a family member of Jegranvi who has been placed on the notorious Fourth Schedule for the last couple of years. However, when they could not get him, they made a charge sheet of his brothers and their wives on 11th February 2015. Yet, even this was not enough from the regime, 13th February 2015 just before Jummah Salah, the regime thugs returned back and violated the sanctity of the Jegranvi's House. Moreover, a thug of the regime, grabbed the hand of one of the women, whilst she was carrying her disabled child in her arms, and arrested her. Now that woman is in the awful Kot Lakpat Jail along her small child, waiting for bail application to be heard by the judiciary.
This is not the first time the Jegranvi family has faced the wrath of the regime. Their only crime is that some of their men are working with Hizb ut Tahrir for the establishment of the Khilafah "Caliphate" and the whole family supports this call. In the past, several times, men of the Jegranvi family were arrested and jailed for their noble work. However, the regime's persecution never lessened their love and determination for the establishment of Islam. Now in order to break their resolve, the regime puts its dirty hands on their woman, which is a red line in Pakistani society as it is a society which regards Islam highly. By doing so, this regime has sent a message to the whole society, that to please their Kafir masters, it can sink to any low level.
Alhamdulillah anger at the regime is overcoming the fear of it. The regime's brutal campaign has angered many. The regime's thugs have been violating the sanctity of privacy by breaking into the houses without permission, even terrorizing women and their small children. The regime does not tolerate any opposition to its National Action Plan which is in reality an American Action Plan to strengthen American Raj in Pakistan. This regime has abandoned Islam and its people and feels proud in serving its Kafir masters, sitting in Washington. It glows with pride when its men receive medals and guard of honors from the Kuffar, though surely they deserve the wrath of Allah (swt). Allah (swt) said,
"And whoever contradicts and opposes the Messenger (Muhammad ) after the right path has been shown clearly to him, and follows other than the believers' way. We shall keep him in the path he has chosen, and burn him in Hell - what an evil destination" [Al-Nisa: 115].

On 15th February Jakarta Post reported dozens of activists, mostly women, that danced together in a peaceful rally to mark their participation in the global solidarity campaign One Billion Rising (OBR) for Revolution in the Point Zero area, Yogyakarta, on Saturday. The rally, which has been held every February 14th in many countries since 1998, was held in conjunction with the V Day celebration to call for an end to violence against women. This year for Indonesia, this dance rally was executed simultaneously in nine cities: Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Solo, Semarang, Malang, Makassar and Poso.
One day earlier a parliament member Rieke Dyah Pitaloka, along with Commissioner of the Indonesia Commission for Women Masruchah and Sri Nurherwati, gave a press conference in Parliament House Jakarta. They urged legislative assembly of Indonesia to accommodate the Bill of Violence against Women to be included in the national legislation program after the exclusion of the bill for the 2015 and 2019 period. In the forum the National Commission for Women stated that "every two hours, there are three women who are victims of sexual violence in Indonesia" and there are 400939 cases of violence against women were reported throughout 1998-2010.

Apparently these women activists misconceive the women problem in Indonesia. Their first misconception is the campaign substance itself which clearly contains paradox issues. They should be aware of the problems against women in Indonesia precisely that they stem from the idea of freedom to pursuing selfish desires, and this has degenerated societies where women's dignity and safety have become the primary losses. It is a stark paradox between calling for respect for women and the celebrating of liberal freedoms that place individualistic whims and desires as the standard of right and wrong.
Second misconception is the campaign style which clearly parrots western lifestyle. The West is truly a major importer of women's problem into Muslims countries and also the ringleader for a liberal society creation which is insecure for women. Top ten countries with highest rape crime against women are dominated by North American and Europe countries. Meanwhile the OBR campaign style clearly imitates the nature of western secular states to throw money at a problem, use a hedonic lifestyle or use knee-jerk legislation to address an issue in their societies.
For Muslim countries like Indonesia, Islam should always be the primary inspiration for solving problems in society, including women's problem. "If the U.S. spends hundreds of millions of dollars for scientific researches in addressing social problems in their society, then Islam eliminates ingrained habits in jahiliyah societies only by a few sheets of the Quran." - Sayyid Qutb. This quote is true. Islam has rooted solutions to create a healthy society. Only Islam that appreciates the great value and heavy responsibility ascribed to safeguarding the dignity of women, obliging men to sacrifice their life to defend their honour. It is Allah's system alone, the Khilafah "Caliphate" that offers a clear strategy to protect their dignity within society through values and laws that complement each other in achieving this outcome. It is a state that rejects capitalist and liberal principles, promoting instead taqwa and the Islamic view towards women through its education, media, and political system, shaped upon the Prophet's (saw) saying,
«إنما النساء شقائق الرجال ما أكرمهن إلا كريم وما أهانهن إلا لئيم»
"Women are the twin Halves of men. None but a noble man treats women in an honorable manner, and none but an ignorant treats women disgracefully."
