This discovery ignited widespread outcry, prompting calls for boycotting the chain. Subsequent investigations by governmental bodies have been launched, with statements obtained from involved parties, including the founder of KK Super Mart.

The Kyrgyz authorities are carrying out a campaign against Islamic values, especially the Islamic dress, since there are a number of measures that indicate this. For example, it was mentioned in Friday sermons that “the Muslim woman’s niqab and black clothes keep people away from religion.”
