On 12 August 2025, the Jordanian capital, Amman, hosted a tripartite meeting between Jordan, Syria, and the United States. The meeting was attended by Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and US Special Envoy Tom Barrack. The meeting was part of what was called an attempt to “contain the Sweida [Suwayda] crisis and support Syria’s stability.”

At dawn on Friday, 8 August, 2025, the security cabinet of the Jewish entity approved a plan to take control of Gaza. The office of the prime minister of the Jewish entity reported that the plan aims to: First: Disarm Hamas. Second: Return all prisoners, living and dead.
