On the 28th of Rajab, 1342 AH, 3 March, 1924 CE, a terrible earthquake struck Istanbul, the capital of the Abode of Islam and the Muslims, turning the world upside down. It altered the course of history, fragmented a great Ummah, abolished a tolerant Shariah Law, humiliated honorable men, and spread corruption throughout the land.
Muslims have been looking towards the great powers. Although competing with these great powers was not on their minds, the revelation of this verse heralded the universality of Islam. Barely a decade had passed before the armies of the Islamic state were knocking on the doors of the great empire of the Romans in the Battle of Mu’tah.
Anyone who contemplates the global developments, including those related to Muslim countries, will see that they are witnessing major transformations that reveal changes that are inevitably coming. The state of stagnation, or near-stagnation, is no longer present. Instead, the world is almost boiling with these developments,
