Sudanese Ambassador to Washington, Mohamed Abdullah Idris, announced the government’s commitment to the roadmap that he announced, which ends with organizing free elections, and international monitoring in which the people choose who will represent them; this announcement came in a press conference held by the ambassador on Saturday, 8 November 2025.

November 5, 2025, a horrific traffic accident occurred on Al-Arqoub Road in Shuqra district, Abyan governorate, southern Yemen, which resulted in the burning of a public transport bus that was on its way to Aden, coming from the city of Jeddah, belonging to the Saqr Al-Hijaz Company, and carrying 42 passengers.

After the separation of South Sudan from its north in 2011, the Abyei area was left disputed and its belonging to either party — the South or the North — was not settled, whereas a referendum was supposed to take place in Abyei in 2011, concurrently with the South Sudan referendum, to determine the area's affiliation to the North or the South, but the referendum did not take place because of the two states' dispute over who has the right to vote in the referendum!
