On Wednesday, 14 May 2014, Pakistan's Prime Minister, held a high-level meeting in Karachi on the issue of operations in Karachi. In this meeting of the military and political leadership, including federal and provincial governments, Chief of Army Staff, Corps Commander Karachi and Director-General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) were present.

French President Francois Hollande called for a summit next Saturday in Paris. In addition to the French and Nigerian Presidents, the leaders of Chad, Cameroon, Niger and Benin will also attend. Lebanon is still experiencing paralysis in state institutions, including schools and high schools, because of the strike declared by the Union Coordinating Committee (UCC) starting last Thursday continuing for a whole week. The strike comes in protest against the report of the Parliamentary Committee which recommended deducting a percentage of salary previously agreed between the UCC and the Authority.

As it is widely reported by media that the Egypt court in El Minya, about 200 km from Cairo has recommended the death penalty for 683 supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood including the leader of its group Mohamed Badie on 28th of April 2014.
