The US Creation of Militias in Afghanistan is the Cause of Ethnic and Local Division

The Afghan Ministry of Defense has recently declared the creation of a new force “the Local Army.” The plan of such a force to reach up to 36000 individuals is apparently aimed to ensure security in the threatened districts and villages of Afghanistan and to reduce the casualties of Afghan Security Forces.

The Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir in Wilayah Afghanistan perceives that the creation of this force is entirely an American plan, which will not help the security condition but will escalate more ethnic conflicts in the targeted areas.

Meanwhile, this plan clearly unveils the hypocrisy of the U.S. in Afghanistan because it repeatedly vows to strengthen the Afghan Security Forces; while in reality, it has always tried to create militias. Since the U.S. has failed to reduce violence as well as to create a secure situation for people, it apparently tries to ensure security through the creation of militias. Whereas, the current plan is another form of Afghan Local Police (Arbaki) which were created by the Americans in 2010, this plan has caused, vicious and dreadful consequences such as increased insecurity, fear and terror, hardship to and harassment of people, robbery and plunder, killing of civilians and causing of ethnic and local hatred.
