On Thursday 18th February 2016, a brave member of Hizb ut Tahrir, Mohammad Sohel Rana (age 29) has been arrested by half a dozen plain clothed officers of Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) from his office during the noon hour. More than 24 hours have passed and he has yet to be produced before the court.

The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) officers of Hasina’s brutal regime have abducted another member of Hizb ut Tahrir, Faidur Rahman, from the capital’s Mirpur area on 15 January 2016. Since then, he has been held without having him produced at the court. With all these continuing arrests, abductions and torture spree against the members and activists of the party, nothing but Hasina government’s state of frustration and sheer anxiety…

On Sunday 10 January, 2016, local news media outlet in Chittagong, The Daily Purbokone, has published a front-page report, titled “Talented students targeted by the militants”, which absurdly attempted to link Hizb ut Tahrir to militancy and vilify the truthful image of its party activists with fictitious information.
