Milestone Tragedy: Innocent Children and our Brave Pilot Tauqir, became the Cruel Victim of the Absence of a Caring State that cares for the People

Last Monday (21July, 2025) afternoon, a Bangladesh Air Force fighter jet F-7 BGI crashed into a building in the junior section of the Milestone School and College in Uttara area of the Capital due to a mechanical fault. This resulted in a tragic and heartbreaking scenario with the horrific scenes of burnt and dismembered children and teenagers who were killed and injured. We in Hizb ut Tahrir, pray to Allah (swt) for the forgiveness of the deceased, and we pray for the quick recovery of the injured. And we pray to Allah (swt) that He (swt) grants the victims the status of martyrs in Paradise according to the good news of the Messenger of Allah (saw). The Messenger of Allah (saw) said, «...وَصَاحِبُ الْحَرِيقِ شَهِيدٌ»“He who dies in a fire is a martyr…” (Ahmad, Abu Dawud, An-Nasa’i).

O People, just as the sincerity and heroism of the people have been revealed through this tragic incident, the hypocrisy and irresponsibility of the selfish secular rulers and political parties have also been exposed to the people. We have seen the incredible participation of the people in the rescue operations and in donating blood to the injured, the heroic sacrifice of the teacher who sacrificed her life to save at least 20 students. On the other hand, the government has failed to provide relief and quick treatment to the severely burned children, let alone arranging for ambulance to admit them to the hospital; whereas the people have witnessed that when these rulers and political elites fall ill, they are taken to Singapore by air ambulance.

When the entire nation is mourning this tragic incident, the students' demand to postpone the HSC examination has been delayed until midnight on the pretext of law, which has created widespread anger among all the parents and students. The power-greedy secular political elites were busy with speeches-statements-photo sessions to gain political benefits and created a storm in the online-offline media by searching for conspiracy theories without holding the government accountable. The power-sharing meetings of power-greedy elites in the National Consensus Commission and the country tours for election campaigns have not stopped. In fact, this issue is as clear as day worldwide, the Godless Secular-Capitalist system is a factory for creating selfish-corrupt and nonsense rulers.

O People, the worrying issue that has come to the fore again through this incident is the reluctance and negligence of the secular ruling elites for decades to form a strong military equipped with quality weapons. Due to which, we have lost brave soldiers one after another in our own suicide aircraft, not by facing the enemy. This is not the first time that this fighter plane accident has occurred in Bangladesh, this F-7 has been involved in multiple accidents in the last eleven years. The Chinese-made F-7, modeled after the Russian Mig-21, is called the “grandpa fighter jet”, which China built in the 1960s and stopped production in 2013.

O People, the Messenger of Allah (saw) said:

«الْإِمَامُ رَاعٍ وَهُوَ مَسْؤُولٌ عَنْ رَعِيَّتِهِ...»

“The ruler over the people is a shepherd and responsible for his subjects…” (Bukhari and Muslim). In the history of the glorious Khilafah (Caliphate) of the Muslim Ummah, this has been demonstrated over the centuries by the Khaleefah’s Abu Bakr (ra), Umar (ra) and countless other God-fearing rulers. Umar (ra) assured the citizens of his responsibility, saying, "لو أن بغلة عثرت على شاطئ الفرات لخشيت أن يسألني الله عنها يوم القيامة"“If even a lamb dies lost on the banks of the Euphrates, I fear that I will be questioned about it on the Day of Judgment.”

The current Godless secular system, which cannot even account for the dead bodies of its people for decades, reminds us today of the absence of the caring state of the Khilafah (Caliphate) that has existed for more than a hundred years and its necessity. The lack of modernization of the military in the current Godless system tells us how vulnerable our sovereignty is; a reality that reminds us of the absence of the mighty military power of the Khilafah that has existed for more than a hundred years and its necessity. The command of Allah (swt) has compelled the Khilafah State to continue its utmost efforts to modernize and strengthen its military. Allah (swt) says,

[وَأَعِدُّوا لَهُم مَّا اسْتَطَعْتُم مِّن قُوَّةٍ وَمِن رِّبَاطِ الْخَيْلِ تُرْهِبُونَ بِهِ عَدُوَّ اللَّهِ وَعَدُوَّكُمْ وَآخَرِينَ مِن دُونِهِمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَهُمُ اللَّهُ يَعْلَمُهُمْ]

“And prepare against them whatever you are able of power and of steeds of war1 by which you may terrify the enemy of Allāh and your enemy and others besides them whom you do not know [but] whom Allah knows” [Surah Al-Anfal: 60].

Hizb ut Tahrir’s call to the conscious people of the country, sincere politicians, intellectuals and officers of the military, to advance in restoring that caring and mighty Khilafah system without delay.
