 Press Release

Let Us Be Grateful to Allah for What He Has Guided Us To

“The month of Ramadan is one in which the Qur’an was sent down as a guidance to mankind, with manifest proofs of guidance and the Criterion. So let those of you who witness it fast [in] it, and as for someone who is sick or on a journey, let it be a [similar] number of other days. Allah desires ease for you, and He does not desire hardship for you, and so that you may complete the number, and magnify Allah for what He guided you to, and that you may be grateful.”

Allahu Akbar! The great day of Eid has arrived. Allahu Akbar! We have completed the blessed month. We congratulate the Muslims on the arrival of this blessed day, and we ask Allah that all of our fasts and good actions be accepted.

Allahu Akbar! Allah has sent guidance to mankind, to take them out of the darkness of misguidance into the light. [هُوَ الَّذي يُنَزِّلُ عَلى عَبدِهِ آياتٍ بَيِّناتٍ لِيُخرِجَكُم مِنَ الظُّلُماتِ إِلَى النّورِ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ بِكُم لَرَءوفٌ رَحيمٌ]“It is He who sends down manifest signs to His servant that He may bring you out of darkness into light, and indeed Allah is most kind and merciful to you.”

At the end of the Ramadan verse Allah explains the wisdom of the month that is followed by the day of Eid [وَلِتُكْمِلُواْ الْعِدَّةَ وَلِتُكَبِّرُواْ اللّهَ عَلَى مَا هَدَاكُمْ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ]“so that you may complete the number, and magnify Allah for what He guided you to, and that you may be grateful”.

Allah’s Messenger (saw) taught us to say often «رَضِيتُ باللهِ رَبَّاً، وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِيناً وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَى اللهُ عَلِيهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَبِيَّاً»“I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my deen and with Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) as my Prophet.”

So here we are having completed the days of fasting, magnifying our Lord, Allahu Akbar! Grateful to Allah for what He has guided us to.

In the verse of Ramadan Allah (swt) reminds us of His great favour to us, when he explains that the Qur’an is:

a) “a guidance to mankind”: guiding them to the truth and to the Straight Path;

b) “manifest proofs of guidance”: definitive miraculous evidences that it is from the guidance that Allah sent down, and

c) “the Criterion”: i.e. that it separates between the truth and falsehood and between good and bad and between the righteous actions and the evil actions.

Such is the enormous favour of sending the Messenger Muhammad (saw) with the Qur’an and the Deen of Islam. Allah says [اليَومَ أَكمَلتُ لَكُم دينَكُم وَأَتمَمتُ عَلَيكُم نِعمَتي وَرَضيتُ لَكُمُ الإِسلامَ دينًا]“Today I have perfected your deen for you, and I have completed My favour upon you, and I am pleased with Islam as your deen.”

Allah is pleased with Islam as our Deen, and we are please with it and grateful for it.

It is out of gratitude to Allah for His Deen that we remind the Ummah, even on this day of great celebration, that the Ummah of Muhammad (saw) continues to suffer at the hands of the ungrateful capitalists who execute their colonial foreign policies in our lands. The Muslims of Rohingya are still ignored by the world, as are the Muslims in the Blessed Land (Palestine), Kashmir, Syria and Yemen, who all face annihilation by a brutal enemy.

The suffering of the Ummah reminds us of the dire consequence of neglecting to implement even a part of Allah’s Deen, that He is pleased with for us. So let our gratitude to Allah motivate us to work tirelessly to magnify our Lord as he should be magnified, to raise his word to the highest.

While today in our lands the secular constitutions are sovereign and orders of the foreign powers are obeyed, our takbeer today should remind us that Allah is greater than all of them. So, if we are truly pleased with Allah as our Lord, Muhammad (saw) as our Prophet, and Islam as our Deen, then we must know that it is Allah’s Shariah that should be sovereign and only the commands of the Khalifah who obeys Allah that should be obeyed.

The true expression of our gratitude to Allah for His guidance is to not neglect even a small part of it. Allah guided the believers to become brothers of one another, not separated by nationalities, tribes and artificial borders that the colonialist enemies put between us. We must reject the divisions which are based upon un-Islamic policies and embrace and call for the unification of the Muslim lands in the form of the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the way of Prophethood.

We must further reject the attempts of the secularists here in Britain to divide the Muslim community according to their false criteria, putting pressure on Muslims to accept the falsification of Islam that only they are pleased with. As the liberal secularists continue to promote and fund projects that seek to secularise the pure Deen that was revealed to the Messenger of Allah (saw), we call upon all Muslims to challenge the details and the basis of the secular way of life. It has brought misery to most of mankind today, with its support for horrendous regimes overseas, and its neglect of the most basic rights of its own citizens at home. Secularism and its values are the cause of youth and gang violence and culture: of cutting corners with safety which led to the Grenfell tragedy one year ago; of the materialism and spiritual vacuum and rat-race that brings misery and depression to most of the people; and the selfishness and ingratitude that brings lonely misery to the neglected elderly, and increasingly even to the children.

So let us be grateful to Allah for what He has guided us to, committing ourselves to hold onto every single aspect of His Deen, for it is exactly as Allah says:

[وَمَن أَعرَضَ عَن ذِكري فَإِنَّ لَهُ مَعيشَةً ضَنكًا وَنَحشُرُهُ يَومَ القِيامَةِ أَعمىٰ]

“But whoever disregards My remembrance, his shall be a wretched life, and on the Day of Resurrection We shall raise him blind.’”
