Over a Thousand Attend the Women's March in London to Condemn the Massacres of Women and Children in Syria and to Support their Struggle for Islamic Rule

Hizb ut Tahrir organised a Women's March in London in support of the women and children of Syria, on Sunday 22nd September 2013 that was attended by over 1200 women and children. The demonstration began at Paddington Green and proceeded through Edgware Road, led by a procession of children carrying a coffin and dolls representing the children and babies murdered by the Syrian regime, ending at the Syrian embassy where there were a number of speeches from the women of Hizb ut Tahrir. It was an electric atmosphere as hundreds of Muslim women with their children poured in from towns and cities across the breadth of the UK. From the North and West, to the East and South, they travelled for this momentous day to raise awareness of the plight of the women and children in Syria and show their passionate support of their struggle to remove the tyrant secular regime and system of Bashar Al Assad and replace him with the Islamic rule of the Caliphate in their land - a struggle for which they are sacrificing their lives. The women attending the march vigorously condemned the massacres of the Syrian regime as well as the inaction of the other rulers and regimes of the Muslim world who have simply watched on, allowing this genocide to unfold, failing to mobilise their armies to protect the blood of the innocent women and children of Syria. Attendees also expressed their opposition to any form of Western, UN, or foreign intervention, understanding the historical legacy of such intervention in the Muslim world that has simply replaced one dictator with another. Rather, they raised a strong call for the Muslim armies to mobilise immediately to defend the lives of their brothers and sisters in Syria and to support the call to establish the Caliphate in the Muslim world. Crowds on the streets of London looked on in amazement at this women's only show of political support for Islam.

Umm Abdullah Khan, Women's Media Representative of Hizb ut Tahrir Britain commented, "This march was organised by Hizb ut Tahrir as a response to the two and a half years of indiscriminate killing, torture, and destruction that the women and children of Syria have been experiencing at the hands of the secular tyrant Bashar Al Assad whilst the international community has watched on. We felt it vital to arrange this event to show the world that Muslim women in Britain firstly reject any form of Western intervention in the crisis which we recognise will simply install the next Western puppet regime in power to replace Assad, serving the interests of Western governments instead of the people as well as usurping the revolution of the Muslims of Syria and their Islamic aspirations for their land; and secondly to demonstrate how large numbers of Muslim women from all corners of the UK support the Islamic struggle of their sisters in Syria to establish the Caliphate in their land. Speakers at the Syrian embassy also spoke about the unique bond of brotherhood that Muslims share, and therefore the heavy Islamic responsibility to work for a solution to end the bloodshed of their brothers and sisters. They also addressed the important impact that Muslim women in Britain can have in aiding the creation of real political change in Syria and across the Muslim world, urging the attendees to carry the messages from the day to their family and friends in the UK and globally, especially to those they know in the Muslim armies through all possible styles, to raise awareness and support for the call of Syria's Muslims."

"The messages and images from this momentous march will also be promoted internationally by members of Hizb ut Tahrir present in over 40 countries across the world to those in their societies, including those of influence and those in the armies of the Muslim world. We hope therefore that this event will contribute to the global efforts of Hizb ut Tahrir to help bring a swift end to this bloodbath and establish a new future for the women and children of Syria under the rule of a just Islamic system that reflects their deeply held Islamic beliefs. It will be a system that will sincerely take care of their needs and guard their blood and dignity, providing them lives of security and prosperity after decades of oppressive dictatorship. The work of the women of Hizb ut Tahrir Britain for our sisters in Syria does not end with this march. We will continue to work within the Muslim community across the UK to raise awareness of the plight of the Muslims of Syria and to build support for the struggle for Islam in the region."
