Thousands to attend Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain's London Conference: The Struggle for ISLAM and the call for Khilafah

Thousands of delegates will attend Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain's national Conference: The Struggle for Islam and the call for Khilafah "Caliphate" at Troxy, 490 Commercial Road in London 11:45 a.m. on Sunday 26th July 2009.

The conference is the first of two this summer - the second in Birmingham - and will be attended by over 4000 delegates and are part of a month of global activities. It comes after Hizb ut-Tahrir's conferences and marches in Indonesia, Lebanon, Pakistan, Palestine, Bangladesh, Sudan, Ukraine, Tanzania, USA, and Australia.

Taji Mustafa, media representative of Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain, said, "Muslims in the west face growing pressure as media and governments increasingly demonise Islam expecting us to change Islam to fit with secular values, creating a 'westernised' Islam."

"The banning of hijab, Sarkozy's attack on niqab, slandering of Prophet Muhammad (saw), propaganda, oppressive anti-terror laws, and efforts to reinterpret the Qur'an are all part of the West's desperate attempts to stem the global Islamic revival."

"Insha Allah, in our conference this summer, Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain will highlight how we, as Muslims in the West, need to be at the forefront of the struggle that counters these policies; carrying the real message of Islam, showing its beauty and how the future Khilafah "Caliphate" State will stand with the oppressed people of the world against the exploitation of global capitalism."

Doors open at 11 a.m. and the conference programme starts at 11:45 a.m. till 7:15 p.m. on Sunday 26^th July 2009. The venue is Troxy, 490 Commercial Road, London, E1 0HX.
