Hizb ut Tahrir in Wilayah Syria Held Press Conference in Lebanon, Presenting its Political Mission to Replace Assad's Regime, by the Grace of Allah
(Translated)

The Central Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir summoned media outlets to cover the press conference of the Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir in Wilayah Syria, titled "Hizb ut Tahrir's Political Document for the Revolution of Ash-Sham: Towards the Birth of the Second Righteous Khilafah "Caliphate"" took place at Hizb ut Tahrir's office in Tripoli, Lebanon, on Thursday 28 Ramadan 1433 AH, corresponding to 16/08/2012.

The press conference commenced with Engineer Osman Bakhach, Director of the Central Media Office of Hizb ut-Tahrir, followed by the conference statement read by the Head of the Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir/Wilayah of Syria, Hisham al-Baba, and the conference concluded with a speech by Ahmad al-Qasas, Head of the Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir/Lebanon.

The following is summary of the statement from the Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir/ Wilayah Syria:

• The objective of the revolutions of the "Arab Spring" is the overthrow of the regimes and not simply the rulers, as well as the rejection of the Western democratic system; and to work for the Islamic political project is an attribute of the Syrian revolution.

• The international powers recognized the uniqueness of the Syrian revolution, stood in its face out of fear of radical change that would oust their agents and interests from the Islamic lands; so they permitted Bashar's ruthless regime's bloodshed of the people, increasing their support for him extension after extension.

• Hizb ut Tahrir views this revolution does not deserve to fall into the swamp of secularism and the heresy of the civil state, and that it is necessary to take a step forward toward the establishment of the Khilafah "Caliphate" Rashidah on the method of the Prophethood.

• Therefore, the Hizb put forth "Hizb ut Tahrir's Political Project" for governance that calls for its implementation after the overthrow of the regime in Syria. Also, a roadmap for achieving this goal was put forth to ensure that the revolution would not be hijacked by the tools of the imperialistic countries.

Brother Qasas's concluding speech addressed the latest security incidents in Lebanon, including the kidnapping of Syrians in Lebanon, and the most prominent of his statement being,

"...It is undisputed between two rational persons what occurs is not on the level of the Maqdad family or any other family however large or numerous; rather they the type undertaken by organized agencies. For the selection of the kidnapped people, one after the other, in an organized and deliberate manner, confirms that these actions are planned in filthy dark rooms by those who have combined all their efforts to serve the criminal gang dominating Syria."
