Our people in Syria awoke on Tuesday, 27/10/2026, to the news of a horrific massacre committed by the Jordanian regime’s aircraft against one of our people’s families in the village of Lutuf, in the al-Lajat area of the eastern countryside of Daraa. Seven people were martyred, including three children and a woman, in addition to a number of injured people. The Jordanian regime claimed that this bombardment came in response to an attack targeting a church funeral in the town of Hamoud, in Karak Governorate. The Jordanian army then announced intensive airstrikes targeting what it described as “dens of terrorist organizations” in areas of the Daraa countryside, such as al-Muzayrib and Nasib. Meanwhile, Jordanian security claimed that those who carried out the Karak attack held takfiri ideology and had links to armed organizations in southern Syria.
One truly strange irony is that fighter aircraft in the Muslim lands either remain piled up in warehouses until they accumulate dust or rust sets in and they become scrap, or they are used against the Muslims themselves.
We have previously issued numerous statements concerning similar past events, affirming the prohibition of targeting civilians who live in safety, including their children, women, elderly, and men. Today, we reiterate and affirm the prohibition of this heinous crime. Allah (swt) said:
[وَلَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِزْرَ أُخْرَى]
“And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another.” [TMQ Al-An‘am:164]. And He (swt) said:
[وَلَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَآَنُ قَوْمٍ عَلَى أَلَّا تَعْدِلُوا اعْدِلُوا هُوَ أَقْرَبُ لِلتَّقْوَى وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ]
“And do not let the hatred of a people cause you to swerve from justice. Be just; that is nearer to righteousness. And fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is fully aware of what you do.” [TMQ Al-Ma’idah:8]. Accordingly, the crime in Karak and the casualties resulting from it do not justify targeting innocent people who are safe in their homes and have no connection to the crime. Nor is it correct to justify this aggression by claiming that it is a response to an attack with a similar one. The response must be directed at the aggressor, not at someone else.
As for our position as Muslims, it is embodied in the military policy of Islam, which prohibits targeting civilians who live in safety. When the Messenger of Allah (saw) sent out an army, he says:
«انطلقوا باسم الله، لا تقتلوا شيخا فانيا ولا طفلا صغيرا ولا امرأة ولا تغلوا، وضموا غنائمكم وأصلحوا وأحسنوا إن الله يحب المحسنين»
“Set out in the name of Allah. Do not kill a decrepit old man, a young child, or a woman; do not act dishonestly. Gather your spoils, make things right, and do good, for Allah loves those who do good.” (Sunan Abi Dawud)
The first Khalifah Rashid (rightly guided caliph), Abu Bakr (ra), said: “Do not kill a child, a woman, an elderly man, or a monk. Do not cut down a fruit-bearing tree, do not destroy an inhabited place, do not slaughter a camel or a cow except for food, do not drown palm trees, and do not burn them.” (Al-Bayhaqi) This is an explanation of the words of Allah (swt):
[وَقَاتِلُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ الَّذِينَ يُقَاتِلُونَكُمْ وَلاَ تَعْتَدُواْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يُحِبِّ الْمُعْتَدِين]
“And fight in the way of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress. Indeed, Allah does not love transgressors.” [TMQ Al-Baqarah:190].
Thus, fighting is against those who fight the Muslims face-to-face. As for what is considered aggression, it is fighting people who do not fight—the civilian population.
O Rulers of Jordan: Does the aggression of the Jewish entity against our people in Gaza, and the number of martyred children and women, estimated at 21,500 children and 12,400 women, not call for a response when the aggressor is evident and clear for all to see?! Indeed, there is no justification whatsoever for not responding, except that you oppose the Muslims in broad daylight and in the darkness of night, with an insolence that is not concealed by condemnation, apology, or even a claim that an investigation has been opened.
O Rulers of Jordan: Has news of the conditions of the female prisoners and what they endure in the Occupation’s prisons not reached you as well?! How can the usurping entity be safe from your warplanes?! Have you not read in history what became of those who aggressed against Islam and the Muslims, and the strong responses they faced—which reached the point of opening lands—as happened in the lands of Sindh, when its ruler attacked a ship carrying Muslim women and took them captive? The Caliph then sent a message to his governor ordering him to exact justice from that oppressive ruler. Muhammad ibn al-Qasim led an army, rescued the women, exacted justice from that tyrannical ruler, and conquered the lands of Sindh. This is how responses were made when we had a state, and so they will be again, Allah willing. At that time, the wrongdoers and tyrants would not dare to aggress against us, neither under the pretext of terrorism nor under the pretext of responding to aggression. For we, the Muslims, are guides to the truth. We seek to exalt the word of Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, establish justice, remove injustice, and achieve security and safety for people.
