The 9th World Trade Organisation (WTO) Conference that took place in Bali, Indonesia from 3rd to 6th December reached a draft global trade agreement that includes further trade liberalization policies including the lifting of more trade regulations and agriculture reforms. The agreement is legally binding for the 159 member states of the organisation, which includes many Muslim countries. Some are arguing that this package will benefit developing states.

On the 18th November 2013 media outlets such as Associated Press and ABC News reported that US Secretary of State John Kerry and his predecessor, Hillary Clinton, stated that Afghanistan is reaching a turning point that will be critical to maintaining advances made by its women over the last decade. Over the last few days the Indonesian media including Kompas, reported the plans of 3 million laborers from hundreds of thousands of companies in 40 industrial estates in Indonesia, to engage in a national strike from 28th October to 1st November 2013 due to the government's failure to meet their demands for basic employment rights.

On Sunday 22nd September, over 1200 women and children attended a momentous women's march in London organized by Hizb ut Tahrir to condemn the slaughter of women and children in Syria by the tyrant Bashar Al Assad, as well as to support the struggle of their Syrian sisters to oust the murderous secular Ba'athist regime to establish the Islamic Khilafah "Caliphate".
