The Women of Hizb ut Tahrir/ Malaysia Host National Women's Conference "Upholding the Establishment of Shariah and Khilafah"

On the 3^rd of March 2013, the women of Hizb ut Tahrir/ Malaysia will host their first national women's conference. It will be held in Kuala Lumpur, under the title, "Upholding the Establishment of Shariah and Khilafah "Caliphate"" and will include local and foreign speakers. The event will gather hundreds of women from across Malaysia, including community leaders to discuss the status and rights of women under the distinct ruling system of Islam, the Khilafah "Caliphate", as well as address the factors that led to the removal of this State from the Muslim world, and the adverse impact of its destruction upon the lives of women in the region. The conference will also deliver a call to the women of Malaysia to support the re-establishment of the Khilafah "Caliphate" that will comprehensively implement the Shariah upon Malaysia and all our Muslim lands, return Islam as a way of life to this world, and guarantee honoured, protected lives to all women under its rule as obliged by the Qur'an and the teachings of the Prophet (saw).

For over 1300 years, women lived under the shade and guardianship of the Khilafah "Caliphate", enjoying dignified lives of security, justice, protection, financial provision, and respect, under a system that guaranteed for them their full rights  as citizens of the state centuries before the Western world even recognised the concept of ‘women's rights'. Following the dismantling of this system in 1924, women in the Muslim world have endured decades of desperate poverty, unbearable suffering, and violation of their dignity due to the imposition of foreign inspired systems, laws and regimes in the region, primarily based upon the defective principles of capitalism, secularism, and democracy. This includes millions of women in Malaysia and South East Asia who today experience a daily struggle for basic needs due to the implementation of flawed capitalist policies that have impoverished societies and failed to distribute wealth effectively between the people. Millions of other women in the region are subject to physical, economic, and sexual exploitation, including trafficking within profit-driven materialistic societies nurtured by the capitalist system where women have been transformed into commodities to secure financial gain. In addition, this exploitative ideology that places wealth creation above all other values correlated women's empowerment with employment, devaluing motherhood, destabilizing the family structure, and eroding the concept of male and state maintenance of women - all in an attempt to drive women into the workplace - causing them to compromise their important role as nurturers and educators of the future generation. Indeed similar problems have characterized the lives of women under all man-made ideologies across the world - East and West.

Dear Sisters of Malaysia, we call you to attend this important conference and to join the global call for the Khilafah "Caliphate" that now spans over 40 countries and grows stronger with every passing day. Stand alongside the thousands of female members and supporters of Hizb ut Tahrir across the globe who are responding to the Command of their Creator, Allah (swt) to restore the Shariah to our lands by establishing His System upon this earth. Indeed, it is the Khilafah "Caliphate" alone that embodies the high principles, laws, and mechanisms to solve poverty and protect the dignity and rights of women, returning them to their elevated, valued status within society that Islam has prescribed.
