O Sheikh of Al-Azhar:

The Massacres Are Not a Surprise But Rather a Natural Result of the Betrayal of Muslim Rulers, their Armies, and their Scholars!

When the Sheikh of Al-Azhar described the crimes of the occupation in Gaza as "catastrophic hatreds" and "a complete lack of humanity and compassion," he said nothing new—nothing the Ummah has not been aware of for decades. But the more important question that must be asked is: Would these massacres have happened without the complacency of regimes, the inaction of armies, and the collusion of rulers?

The massacres committed by the Jewish entity today are not an exception in its history; rather, they are the norm. It is an entity founded on the shedding of blood, ever since Britain planted it in the heart of the Islamic Ummah. What it has done in Gaza is merely a continuation of its long record of killing and displacement, which began with the massacres of Deir Yassin and Kafr Qasim, continued through Sabra and Shatila and Jenin, and has now escalated into the genocide in Gaza today.

The statements of the Sheikh of Al-Azhar do not rise to the level of the real and only solution, which is mobilizing the armies and declaring a call to arms to uproot this entity from its foundations.

Since its establishment, Al-Azhar has been a beacon of jihad against invaders and occupiers, and its scholars have led revolutions against oppression and colonization. So what prevents the Sheikh of Al-Azhar today from declaring a general mobilization to liberate Palestine?!

Why does he not explicitly state that jihad is an individual obligation upon the Ummah and that it is the only path to liberating Palestine?!

Why does he not urge the soldiers of Egypt to overthrow the treacherous rulers who prevent them from fulfilling their religious duty?!

Why does he not condemn the Egyptian regime’s participation in the suffocating siege on Gaza while it coordinates security efforts with the Jews to protect their borders?!

Why does he not call upon the Ummah to revolt against these treacherous regimes that serve as the first line of defense for the Jews entity?!

Why does he not demand the establishment of an Islamic state that mobilizes armies in defense of a single woman, let alone an entire country?!

Al-Azhar’s silence on these truths makes it part of the problem, not part of the solution.

O Sheikh of Al-Azhar: We do not need condemnations; we need a declaration of jihad. If you are sincere in your stance, then call the Ummah to jihad and incite it to liberate Palestine. Speak the truth openly and be the voice of the Ummah against its treacherous rulers. Fulfill the covenant of Allah that He has taken upon you, and do not be like the rabbis of the Jews who broke their covenant with Allah: 

[وَإِذَ أَخَذَ اللهُ مِيثَاقَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ الْكِتَابَ لَتُبَيِّنُنَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ وَلاَ تَكْتُمُونَهُ فَنَبَذُوهُ وَرَاء ظُهُورِهِمْ وَاشْتَرَوْاْ بِهِ ثَمَناً قَلِيلاً فَبِئْسَ مَا يَشْتَرُونَ]

“And [mention, O Muhammad], when Allah took a covenant from those who were given the Scripture, [saying], "You must make it clear to the people and not conceal it." But they threw it away behind their backs and exchanged it for a small price. And wretched is that which they purchased”. [Aal-i-Imran:187].

But if you choose to settle for diplomatic words, know that the Ummah will not wait for anyone. It will move forward despite all the betrayal, and it will be victorious by Allah’s will—whether people like it or not.

O Armies of the Ummah: Enough silence, enough waiting, enough submission to a handful of treacherous rulers who have sold their religion and their world. The Ummah awaits from you a stance that will change the course of history—so rise to the responsibility, or else you will be held accountable before Allah for every drop of blood spilled, while you had the power to prevent it.

O Soldiers of Egypt: Do not be prisoners to the chains of traitorous rulers. You are the ones holding the weapons, and you are capable of overturning the equation. You are the real power that can crush the Jewish entity—not the statements of scholars nor the speeches of politicians.

Who will stand for Islam if not you? Who will support it besides you?! So rise in anger for the sake of Allah—an anger that will uproot this treacherous regime that prevents you from fulfilling your duty of liberating the Blessed Land. Establish the Islamic state for the sake of Allah, O soldiers of Egypt and its sincere sons. Perhaps Allah will grant its establishment through you and bring about goodness by your hands, so that the honor of this world and the dignity of the Akhirah may be achieved—a Khilafah Rashidah (rightly guided Caliphate) on the method of the Prophethood.

[يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنْ تَنْصُرُوا اللَّهَ يَنْصُرْكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَكُمْ]

“O you who have believed, if you support Allah, He will support you and plant firmly your feet. [Muhammad:7].
