REJECT THE 2013 MISS WORLD CONTEST IN INDONESIA

2013 Miss World Contest will be held in Indonesia next September. The committee affirmed that the competition is not only woman beauty contest, 3B (Beauty, Brain and Behavior) but there is new concept called beauty with purpose. Therefore, according to them there is nothing to be worried about the contest moreover the bikini session is already deleted. Furthermore, this event is a surefire way to promote Indonesia tourism.

Nevertheless, it can't be denied that the Miss World Contest and the similar events are just the contests to find the most beautiful woman physically to be exploited by fashion and cosmetic industries, and to upgrade media rate. The Assessment Criteria of Beauty with Purpose and also 3B (Beauty, Brain and Behaviour) are only the mask to cover the women body exploitation. Moreover, the Miss World Contest is the oldest beauty contest that has inspired other similar contests. Allowing the contest to be held in Indonesia will confirm that Indonesia as the biggest Muslim Country has contributed to perpetuate the exploitation and commercialization of women's bodies.

To reject the contest, Hizb ut Tahrir/Indonesia will organize huge rallies in every city in Indonesia and state:

1.   Reject the contest of Miss World 2013, because it is exploitation towards women and degrading their dignity.

2.   Warn the government to cancel the permit of the event and stop all kinds of exploitation towards women in this country.

3.   Call all women to keep their dignity according to The Creator, Allah (swt), as honorable women who carry out their role, meet their function and main obligations as Allah (swt) set. Only with Islam, women will live nobly, bring goodness for themselves, their family and their society.

4.   Call all Muslims to work hard to uproot secular-capitalistic system as the main source of contempt for women through all kinds of exploitations and commercialization of women and change it with Khilafah "Caliphate" System that will implement sharia. It is the only system that will give goodness for all, for women especially.

People are highly conscious that government has failed to protect moral, they also know that Islam is solution for this. 72% of people want Shariah to be implemented and reject the West liberal lifestyle (Pew Research 2013). Therefore, the government must hear and support what people want and stop the Miss World Contest from taking stage.

[يَاأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا اسْتَجِيبُوا لِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ إِذَا دَعَاكُمْ لِمَا يُحْيِيكُمْ]
