Protection and Prosperity for Indonesian Children Need Change of the System

This country failed in creating a system of child protection! A statement coming from the Minister of Social Affair which stated that there are 4.1 million children in Indonesia have been reported of being victims of violence which is an undeniable information. This capitalistic democratic nation could not give a thorough solution to stop the causes of violence towards children. Instead of creating Child Protection that requires a promise in fulfilling the basic right of children, secure, medical treatment, education etc, this democratic country in fact creates violence towards children in huge numbers and in many horrendous methods.

It is time for all components in this country to realize that the child's problem is an epidemic exported by western civilization to Muslim countries. In the United States, since 2000 more than 5 million children per year suffer from physical, sexual and verbal abuses are neglected, and dumped (http://www.loveourchildrenusa.org/). If this nation keeps adopting the model of western civilization with its liberal and materialistic values, along with the capitalistic economic system then it will lead to consequences, that is the spread out of social crisis, family destruction, the endemic of violence towards women and children. It is a similar condition as in the Western developed countries that achieved their economic progress but had civilization destruction.

As a real contribution to establish a system that is able to diminish the problems faced by children, Muslimah Hizb ut Tahrir Indonesia declares:

1. It requires a fundamental and comprehensive evaluation towards the policy in practice of child protection as stated by the relevant officers. If in reality it has been proven that the number of policies are contradictive with institutions and the system that is counterproductive with the mission of child protection; righteously every element gives its commitment to do the change even if it requires the change of the system.

2. It’s now the time to realize that the only system which is able to establish child protection is Islamic system in the form of Khilafah "Caliphate" state. The bright history of Islamic civilization was proven to secure prosperity and child rights as the heir to the Islamic generation. Its law, social, political and economic systems were put in harmony to protect and ensure the growth of the golden age that was strong, productive and had goodness in faith.

3. Khilafah "Caliphate" Islamiyah is the only political system that can be the Ummah’s protector from different kinds of threats and it will be a guardian to fulfil the basic daily needs until the prosperity of its people is achieved. Khilafah "Caliphate" will not compromise with material interest and permit destructive opinions or attitudes as assault and pornography spread among Ummah.

So those who want to establish dignity, prosperity and also a better future for the generation are supposed to seriously obey Allah’s call to strive in establishing all Shariah law under Daulah Khilafah "Caliphate" Islamiyah upon the method of the Prophethood. Allah (swt) says:

[إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُوا مَا بِأَنْفُسِهِمْ ۗ]

“Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.” [Al-Ra’d: 11]
