Sufferings of Women and Family Due to Indonesia Economic Crisis in 2015,
Sharia-Khilafah "Caliphate" is the Solution

 Indonesia is on the verge of economic crisis in 2015! There are some tangible indications for it, such as the weakening of the rupiah (Indonesia's currency) against the hard currencies of the world, soaring food prices amid declining consumer purchasing power and rising unemployment due to mass layoffs of 30,000 employees (data from the Ministry of Manpower) to 100,000 workers (data of Federation of Labor Unions). The nation's economy also deteriorated as a result of the growing foreign debt which led to the bankruptcy of the state, the current account deficit, tight liquidity and continuing political tensions.

Millions of women and families in Indonesia immediately felt the impact. Unquestionably, the number of poor families will increase. They are facing difficulties meeting the basic needs including providing adequate nutrition for their children. This actually adds to the worsening condition of flawed evidence of the capitalist economic system adopted by the country. Not only generating towards cyclic economic crisis, it also proved the system results in artificial economic growth as what they called a "bubble economy" because it rests on usury sector and fiat money. Because it does not have a mechanism for equitable distribution, the capitalist system has also impoverished tens of millions of people, including women in this country while a small number of people are rolling in wealth.

Responding to these conditions, Muslimah Hizb ut Tahrir Indonesia stated:

1. The only way to end the economic crisis that hit this country is abandoning the capitalist system; remove non-real sectors in the form of usury, a limited liability company which issued shares/stocks and capital markets, as well as stopping the use of paper money unsecured with precious metals (fiat money). Carrying out regulatory improvements including the Economic Policy Package September (09.09.2015) launched by the government to respond to the economic turmoil will not be able to overcome the crisis. This policy will only provide an 'anesthetic' for the deteriorating economic situation, but can be dangerous because it would divert public awareness of disability and the decaying capitalist system.

2. The Islamic economic system is the only system credible for managing this nation's economy. The economic system that comes from Allah (swt) is the system that will realize the economy in growth, stability, crisis-free and fairness. In addition to the real economy based on agriculture, industry, trade and services, the system will remove all forms of usury and business entities having inappropriate contracts according to the bounds of Sharia such as limited company (shirkah musahamah) and its derivatives. The Islamic economic system would impose a currency based on gold and silver (dinar-dirham) that does not depend on other currencies unrestricting it from monetary crisis.

3. The righteous Caliphate upon the method of the Prophethood is the only political system that is able to reinstate the Islamic economic system. Political economy of the Islamic caliphate would ensure the fulfillment of the basic needs of each and every individual (clothing, housing, food, health, education and security), in addition to creating a mechanism for equitable wealth distribution. The status of ownership and management rights are obviously also realized through the implementation of the entire law related to the economic field.

This is a system that is credible of providing economic rights and justice for hundreds of millions people in this Muslim country which is rich in natural resources and the welfare of the Ummah is expected. The Caliphate system has been proven to not have women suffering because of caring for her children not fulfilling their basic needs.

Allah Almighty says:

[وَلَوْ أَنَّ أَهْلَ الْقُرَىٰ آمَنُوا وَاتَّقَوْا لَفَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَرَكَاتٍ مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَلَـٰكِن كَذَّبُوا فَأَخَذْنَاهُم بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ]

"If countries if only people of faith and piety, surely We will be bestowed upon them blessings from the heavens and the earth, but they belied (the verses of Us) it, then We seized them for their deeds." [TQS Al-Araf: 96]
