Kenya marked 60 years of ‘independence’ on Tuesday, 12th December 2023. The day is observed annually on December 12, marking the day in 1963 when Kenya gained its so-called independence from British colonial rule.

King Charles III has begun a four-day tour in the former colony, Kenya. This is the first visit of the monarch since the coronation to any of the British colonies.
