When the Biggest Arms Supplier Talks about Ceasefire and Peace, Truly it is a Manifestation of Deceit and Hypocrisy

At the end of last month, Malaysiakini reported its interview with the United States Ambassador to Malaysia, Edgard D. Kagan, where he discussed, among other things, America's position and policies in West Asia, particularly concerning Palestine. When questioned about the apparent contradiction of calling for a ceasefire and de-escalation in Palestine while simultaneously shipping weapons to support 'Israel,' Kagan responded that Washington is committed to ending the bloodshed but is not willing to "turn away" from its long-term commitments to the security of 'Israel.' The ambassador further asserted that America's relationship with and commitment to 'Israel' gives it the credibility to mediate the peace process in the region.

The American ambassador’s remarks can be interpreted as, "We want peace in Palestine, and we want to stop the killing of Palestinians by providing 'Israel' with as many weapons and bombs as it needs to eliminate Palestinians and devastate the entire land of Palestine!" This is the reality of America’s stance - it no longer hides its blatant hypocrisy when discussing its policies in West Asia. A close ally of 'Israel' and the largest weapons supplier to the Jewish entity now speaks of ceasefire, peace, and an end to the killings in Palestine! What could be a greater lie or hypocrisy than this? Indeed, America has lost any semblance of shame or sanity when it comes to Palestine!

Malaysiakini reported that Kagan was interviewed during his visit to the media outlet’s office in Petaling Jaya. It is curious how someone of Kagan’s stature could visit Malaysiakini’s office for an interview, especially considering that Malaysiakini is not a government channel. There must be something "special" about Malaysiakini that warranted the attention of a representative from one of the world's largest colonial powers to be used as platform for conveying his message to the Malaysian populace!

During the interview, the American ambassador commended the achievements of democracy in Malaysia and acknowledged Malaysian leaders who recognize the significance of ASEAN to the United States. As a representative of American interests in Malaysia, the ambassador's commendations carry substantial weight and are far from mere platitudes. Notably, this praise is articulated while Anwar Ibrahim holds the position of Prime Minister. It is worth recalling that during Al Gore's visit to Malaysia in 1998, the American Vice President openly lauded the reform movement led by Anwar, recognizing their courage in advocating for democratic changes, which dealt a significant blow to Mahathir's administration at that time. It seems that Anwar has a “special standing” in America’s eyes.

It is essential for Muslims to comprehend the context behind America's praise and endorsement of democracy in Malaysia. As the leading proponent of democracy globally, the United States supports any leader or country that embraces democracy, particularly within the Muslim world. Conversely, the United States labels those who oppose democracy, especially those who seek to establish a state outside of democratic frameworks, as radicals, extremists, or even terrorists. Consequently, America exhibits hostility towards efforts to establish a Khilafah (Caliphate), a Muslim political institution that poses a significant threat to the United States’s interests, once established. Thus, democracy serves as a strategic tool for America to thwart any effort to establish the Khilafah. America understands clearly that as long as Muslims commit to democracy, Islam will remain unimplementable, as only the Khilafah represents the sole means for Islam to be fully implemented.

The United States will support those who uphold democracy and is prepared to take all measures to ensure that Muslims remain committed to democracy. Even a simple commendation of democracy in Malaysia is sufficient for America to convey the message: "This is the one and only right path that I endorse for you (O Muslims) to follow if you seek my approval.” Indeed, it is true what Allah (swt) has said:

[وَلَنْ تَرْضَى عَنْكَ الْيَهُودُ وَلَا النَّصَارَى حَتَّى تَتَّبِعَ مِلَّتَهُمْ]

“And never will the Jews or Christians be pleased with you, until you follow their religion” [Al-Baqarah (2): 120].

Therefore, take heed, O Muslims! Abandon democracy, for it is the path endorsed by the enemies of Allah (swt), particularly America. Considering the evident crimes and hypocrisy of the United States, it is unfortunate that Malaysia persists in maintaining diplomatic and trade relations and fostering amicable ties with this imperialist power. Since Malaysia attained its so-called "independence" and since the occupation of the Blessed Land of Palestine, there have been nine Prime Ministers of Malaysia. Yet none, including the current 10th Prime Minister, have had the courage to expel the American ambassador and shut down its embassy in this country as a response to America's criminal role in Palestine.

In light of both the factual circumstances and Divine rules, it is imperative for us (Muslims) to have a Khalifah (Caliph) who is trustworthy and courageous, who will not only disallow the enemy from placing their ambassadors and embassies in our country but will also carry out the command of Allah (swt) to defeat the enemies until their countries are integrated into the Khilafah, compelling them to submit to Islam and pay the Jizyah (head tax) as a sign of their subservience to Islam. Thus, affirming the words of Allah (swt):

[قَاتِلُوا الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَلَا بِالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَلَا يُحَرِّمُونَ مَا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَلَا يَدِينُونَ دِينَ الْحَقِّ مِنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ حَتَّىٰ يُعْطُوا الْجِزْيَةَ عَنْ يَدٍ وَهُمْ صَاغِرُونَ]

“Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture - [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled.” [At-Taubah (9): 29].
