Hizb ut Tahrir Organized Public Addresses in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi and Peshawar Islam's Economic System is the Only Solution to Pakistan's Economic Problems

Hizb ut Tahrir organized country wide ‘Public Addresses' to make the people aware about Hizb ut Tahrir's economic agenda for the country. These addresses were organized at important mosques and other public places in major cities. These addresses continued for three days where speakers addressed thousands of people. Speakers told the people that Pakistan's economic problems are not due to the lack or deficiency of resources, rather the reason is the capitalist system which is implemented in this country. Capitalism is not capable of distributing these abundant resources justly amongst the masses and concentrates these resources in the hands of a few capitalists and multi-nationals. The speakers said that it is only Islam's economic system which gives such laws and rules that ensure proper distribution of resources. Islam does not grant the strong the opportunity to oppress the weak. The speakers highlighted the Islamic laws related to ownership, taxation, agriculture and currency. They said that according to Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), oil, gas, electricity and mineral resources cannot be privatized as Islam declares them public property. Therefore, Islamic Khilafah "Caliphate" will provide these energy resources to the people and industry, without profiteering. As a result, the people will get immediate relief and industry, a new and powerful injection of life. Similarly, Islam has specified revenue generation. Islam does not allow the Khaleefah to impose taxes at his will. Islam prohibits all indirect taxes, which in reality, result in oppression of people. After exhausting other available avenues, Islam imposes taxes on the rich if there is a great need, in contrast to the Capitalist System, which taxes the poor. The speakers presented the Islamic Laws related to agriculture as well. They told the people that, according to Islamic laws, if someone cultivates a barren land, he becomes the owner of that land. Also, if someone does not cultivate his land for three consecutive years, then the state has the right to take this land from him and give it to some other farmer who can cultivate it. The speakers also presented the Islamic laws related to currency. They clarified this Issue, that in Islam, currency is not like the present hollow fiat currency, but it is 100% backed by Gold and Silver. Thus, the state doesn't have the right to print currency at will. As a result, the problem of Inflation is resolved and people will get great relief. The speakers said that people who are calling for "Clean Democracy" are in reality calling for the implementation of this same old rotten Capitalist system, instead of Islam. They said that all these laws can only be implemented in the Khilafah "Caliphate" state. They quoted the Ayah of the Quran where Allah (swt) has told us that he will squeeze the livelihood when there is deviation from Islam.

[وَمَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَنْ ذِكْرِي فَإِنَّ لَهُ مَعِيشَةً ضَنكًا]

"Whosoever turns away from My Reminder (Qur'an) verily, for him is a life of hardship." [Surah Ta-Ha 20:124]
