Press Release
The Bajwa-Imran Regime has no Mercy for the Advocates of Khilafah that it Keeps in Abduction until Today, but Makes a Grand Display of Concern for those in Saudi Prisons
On the last day of the Saudi Crown Prince’s visit, Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Imran Khan, raised the issue of thousands of Pakistanis in Saudi jails, upon which the Saudi Crown Prince assured the release of around 2100, the first of whom arrived on 21 February 2019, to great fanfare. In doing so, Imran Khan gave the impression that he really cares about the people of Pakistan, particularly those in prison abroad.
Imran stated that, “Pakistani labor works in Saudi Arabia to support families. Such people are very close to my heart. There are 3000 of them who are now in prisons because of minor offences.” However, in reality, this is yet another example of two-facedness from a regime that has become well-practiced in hypocrisy since it assumed ruling. On the one hand, Imran Khan makes a grand display of concern for Pakistani prisoners in Saudi Arabia, demanding their release, but on the other hand, the Bajwa-Imran regime stone-heartedly keeps hundreds of people in abduction, without even having the decency to inform their families of their status, well-being and whereabouts, or producing them before a court of law, condemning their families to prolonged agony. The regime is particularly cruel in cases of the advocates of Khilafah, whom it keeps in abduction until today. The Official Spokesperson of Hizb ut Tahrir in Pakistan, Engineer Naveed Butt was abducted on 11 May 2012 from Lahore, nearly seven years ago, whilst Engineer Muhammad Junaid Iqbal and Chartered Accountancy finalist Syed Nabeel Akhter were abducted on 15 September 2017 from Karachi.
According to Imran Khan, Pakistanis imprisoned in Saudi Arabia should be freed because their crimes are insignificant, so we ask what about those sincere Muslims who remain in abduction just because they raised their voices in advocacy of the Khilafah, whose establishment Allah (swt) has obliged? Are the advocates of the Khilafah not more deserving of being released immediately, since far from being a minor offense, advocacy of Khilafah is a great Islamic duty? In reality, just like the previous democratic regimes, the current regime has morally bankrupted itself by being a firm ally of America in its war against Islam, to prevent the return of Islam as a state and authority. Nonetheless, the mask of honesty behind which the regime hides, has slipped and soon the hands of the Muslims of Pakistan will be at its neck. The very least these rulers can do is to abstain from such oppression, to avoid the punishment promised in the saying of RasulAllah (saaw) about oppressors,
«إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يُمْلِي لِلظَّالِمِ فَإِذَا أَخَذَهُ لَمْ يُفْلِتْهُ» “Allah extends the rope of an oppressor, but when He swt holds him, then He does not let him go.” (Tirmidhi, Bukhari, Muslim).
