Rebuttal of IMF's Budget 2013-14 for Pakistan
Hizb ut Tahrir Issues Open Letter to Pakistan's Finance Minister and a Comprehensive Document about Khilafah's Vision for Pakistan's Economy

Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Pakistan has launched a campaign in response to the Budget 2013-14, which has been dictated by the colonialist institution, the International Monetary Fund. The post-budget campaign includes a distribution of an open letter to the Finance Minister as well as a booklet presenting how the Khilafah "Caliphate" will revive the economy of Pakistan, entitled Pakistan's Economy under the Khilafah "Caliphate", accompanied by delegations and gatherings of the influential and opinion makers in Pakistan.

In its open letter, Hizb ut Tahrir exposes the IMF dictation of Pakistan's budget and the three pillars of its war upon Pakistan's economy, "These destructive policies are elaborated in the IMF Country Report 12/35 of February 2012 and also the Letter of Intent to the IMF of 17 December 2010, which is a letter of commitment from both the State Bank and the Finance Ministry, to ensure implementation. And the pillars of the colonialist policies that are undermining the economy of Pakistan are three: privatization of Pakistan's electricity that cripples it, huge taxation that strangles economic activity and weakening of Pakistan's currency that causes inflation."

The open letter establishes how Islam's divinely revealed texts provide for Shariah laws to comprehensively address the three pillars. In addition the booklet on the revival of Pakistan's economy, elaborates how the Khilafah "Caliphate" will generate revenues without falling into debt traps with colonialist nations, strengthen the industry and agriculture as well as solving the electricity crisis and the scourge of inflation from their roots.
