The Khilafah Alone Can Provide Relief from Inflation, through Issuing Gold and Silver Currency

Pakistan is in need of a tried and tested solution to crushing inflation, which Islam uniquely provides. The Messenger of Allah (saw) approved of the minting of gold dinars, weighing 4.25g, and silver dirhams, weighing 2.975g, as the currency of the state. This is how the Khilafah ensured stability in currency, and hence in the prices of goods and services that currency buys, for centuries. Neither collapsing capitalism, nor failed communism, provide any solution to the rampant inflation that paper, fiat currency has unleashed. Unfailingly, year on year, whether it is the Pakistani rupee, American dollar, Russian ruble or Chinese yuan, fiat currency loses value, raising the prices of all goods and services. Indeed, the Khilafah is the need of the time.

Providing patchwork solutions for the dying capitalism, or attempting to revive the long dead communism, are useless human efforts. Certainly, Islam’s radical implementation through the Khilafah is neither a utopia nor a dream. Previously, for centuries, with the growth and dominance of the Khilafah, the gold dinar was the dominant coin, from the Western coast of Africa, to northern India. Today, the return to the gold and silver standard for Muslims is eminently practical. The lands of the Muslims, in which the Khilafah state is likely to arise soon inshaa Allah, contain abundant gold and silver, such as the Saindaq and Reko Diq fields in Pakistan. The Islamic Ummah possesses immense resources that are needed by other countries, such as oil, gas, coal, minerals and agricultural commodities, which can be used in exchange for more gold and silver. Unified under the Khilafah, the Muslim Lands will pool their abundant and varied resources, becoming self-sufficient in basic commodities, slashing import bills. The Khilafah’s real economy will be stable and resistant to manipulations and speculation, once the parasite economy of riba (interest) based financial instruments is abolished. Re-establishing gold and silver in international trade, the Khilafah will end the unfair advantage that America has, by imposing the US dollar on international trade, through Washington’s tool, the IMF.

O Muslims of Pakistan! Turn your backs on all man-made systems, built on limited minds and endless desires, and strive for ruling by all that Allah (swt) has revealed. Establish the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood, so that you achieve success in both Dunyah and Aakhira. Allah (swt) said,

[وَأَنْ احْكُمْ بَيْنَهُمْ بِمَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ وَلاَ تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَاءَهُمْ وَاحْذَرْهُمْ أَنْ يَفْتِنُوكَ عَنْ بَعْضِ مَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ إِلَيْكَ]

“And rule between them by all that which Allah revealed to you, and do not follow their desires, and beware that they may deviate you away from some of which Allah revealed to you.” [TMQ Surah Al-Mai’dah 5:49].
