The Repeated, Desperate Attempts to Link Hizb ut Tahrir to Militancy, is Because the West Fears the Collapse of Its Corrupt World Order, in the Muslim World

Yet another misrepresentation of Hizb ut Tahrir has appeared in the press, in quick succession to the last! The Friday Times published an article on 20 June 2024, entitled “Hizb ut Tahrir: Between Non Violence and Terror,” authored by Tariq Aqil.  It is another article in the spate of articles in local and international publications, insinuating that Hizb ut Tahrir has a link to militancy.

These articles are the result of the twisted political agenda of the colonialist states and their agents in the Muslim World. In reality, the Kafir colonialist and their agents do not fear any supposed link of Hizb ut Tahrir with militancy, because their intelligence agencies know well that such a link does not exist.  Their actual fear is that the call of Hizb ut Tahrir, for the resumption of the Islamic way of life through the re-establishment of the Khilafah Rashidah (rightly guided Caliphate), has popular support within the Islamic Ummah. Their fear is that the Ummah and its armies will reverse the colonialist project of nation states, that have divided and weakened the Muslims, since the destruction of their Khilafah, one hundred years ago, in 1924. Their attempts to link Hizb to militancy are thus to create an excuse for the suppression of Hizb ut Tahrir, denying the Hizb access to public forums.

It is obvious that the ideology of the Hizb, Islam, is an existential threat to the Western world order. Islam rejects sovereignty of the human mind, and the right of human beings to make laws. Islam asserts exclusive sovereignty for Allah (swt), and the implementation of Shariah law. Islam commands the unification the Ummah as one single Ummah, and rejects the nationalist borders that were drawn by the Kafir colonialists, to divide the Muslims into over fifty states. Islam asserts that the life of all Muslims, whether in Pakistan or Palestine, have equal worth. According to Islam, the armies of Muslims are obliged to mobilize in support of Gaza, end the Zionist occupation and liberate Palestine. Islam demands the unity of the Ummah, under the authority of a single Khaleefah. Islam demands the re-establishment of the Khilafah Rashidah, which will unify the Ummah’s resources, expel colonialist multi-national companies and eradicate the military bases of Western states within the Islamic lands. It is this radical Islamic agenda of Hizb ut Tahrir that compels the Western states and their agents to fabricate links of militancy with Hizb ut Tahrir.

The fear of the sweeping changes in Muslim public opinion, in the light of Gaza, has created a desperate urgency in the regimes, and their mouth pieces in the media. As an example, the article at hand has been put together in haste, in a rush to join in the chorus of fabrications against Hizb ut Tahrir. The result is particularly poor journalism, as it is mainly a reproduction of an article first published by Newsline magazine thirteen years ago, in August 2011, with the title “Hizb ut Tahrir in Pakistan.” Even basic fact checking is absent, when the Friday Times’ article rephrases the original Newsline article regarding Naveed Butt, the official spokesman of Hizb ut Tahrir in Pakistan. It states “the only widely recognized person of the HUT in Pakistan has been Naveed Butt... He is seen quite often propagating the establishment of the Islamic Sharia.” Naveed was indeed seen quite often, in 2011. However, Naveed was abducted by intelligence agencies on 11 May 2012, and so is not seen at all now, let alone “quite often.”

As for the call of Hizb ut Tahrir to the armed forces of Muslims to bring change, the Friday Times’ article raises this matter as if it is a cause for alarm. Why? In Pakistan, it is well known that the armed forces are the power behind all governments. Are the armed forces only allowed to support secular, liberal, Western ruling, and not Islamic ruling? Why, when Pakistan is a country created in the name of Islam and the majority of its citizens are Muslims? The Prophetic methodology clearly establishes that the Messenger of Allah (saw) secured the material support (Nussrah) from the warriors of the Ansaar, in the Second Pledge of Aqabah. It is this Pledge of Nussrah that enabled Islam to reach ruling and governance, transforming the divided and trouble Yathrib, into the magnificent, illuminating Al-Madinah Al-Munawarrah.

We call upon the Muslims of Pakistan, including their fair minded journalists and columnists, to stand up for the truth. We call upon them to reject the fabrications against Hizb ut Tahrir. The battle between truth and falsehood is not won by fabrication, force and coercion, but by strength of evidence and argument.  In conclusion, now that we have corresponded with you, after you failed to correspond with us, we request that you print our press release within your publication, in full. We urge you to do so, so that your readers are able to make an informed choice about Hizb ut Tahrir, distinguishing truth from falsehood.  Allah (swt) said,

[وَقُلْ جَآءَ ٱلْحَقُّ وَزَهَقَ ٱلْبَٰطِلُ ۚ إِنَّ ٱلْبَٰطِلَ كَانَ زَهُوقًا]

“And declare,“The truth has come and falsehood has vanished. Indeed, falsehood is bound to vanish.” [TMQ Surah Al-Israa 17:81].
