Investigation Announced the End of the Fabricated Criminal Proceedings in Petersburg
(Translated)

On 23rd July Petersburg prosecution confirmed the charges in the case filed against two Muslims, Gabor Mhamidov and Mohammed Amin Salif. According to Article 205.5 of the Penal Code of the Russian Federation, which speaks of "participation in organized terrorist activities." The two brothers and other members of Hizb ut Tahrir have been arrested on 24th June 2014 and were the first to have the lawsuits been fabricated against them.

Accusing Muslims of terrorism by the investigators came against the backdrop of the Hizb members to call to Islam and to participate in its work in Petersburg which includes organizing forums and meetings in the mosque and discussions on the basis of Islam. The fabricated charges came under the pretext of secret meetings of the members in the student dormitory of the Marine Technical Institute, knowing that they are officially living there, and studying at the institute, and the media have confirmed this. It was intuitive that the rest of the Muslim detainees in Petersburg will be tried according to the same charge of "terrorism", on charges of participating in an illegal party activity in Russia.

Thus, accusing Muslims of terrorism is not based on facts that testify to committing a crime, but on the basis that the Russian Supreme Court ruled in February 2003 that the Islamic party Hizb ut Tahrir is a terrorist party without bringing proof for that.

وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَى بِآيَاتِنَا وَسُلْطَانٍ مُّبِينٍ * إِلَى فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَئِهِ فَاتَّبَعُواْ أَمْرَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَا أَمْرُ فِرْعَوْنَ بِرَشِيدٍ * يَقْدُمُ قَوْمَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَأَوْرَدَهُمُ النَّارَ وَبِئْسَ الْوِرْدُ الْمَوْرُودُ * وَأُتْبِعُواْ فِي هَـذِهِ لَعْنَةً وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بِئْسَ الرِّفْدُ الْمَرْفُودُ

“And We did certainly send Moses with Our signs and a clear authority* To Pharaoh and his establishment, but they followed the command of Pharaoh, and the command of Pharaoh was not [at all] discerning* He will precede his people on the Day of Resurrection and lead them into the Fire; and wretched is the place to which they are led.* And they were followed in this [world] with a curse and on the Day of Resurrection.
