Press Release
Protecting Women's Rights with CEDAW: “Cure me with what caused my illness!”
(Translated)

The Strategic Initiative for Women in the Horn of Africa issued a statement expressing its great relief that the Sudan Public Order Law has been annulled, and calling for the abolition of all articles that discriminate against women from the criminal law and other laws established with the ideologies of terrorism that have wronged women. It considered that the signing and ratification of both CEDAW and the Maputo Protocol are integral to stopping the unlawful discrimination against women in the country, as well as protecting their rights and dignity, and the initiative is based on the prime minister’s pledge before the United Nations General Assembly to commit to end discrimination. (Sudan Tribune, November 30, 2019).

Limiting thinking in the Salvation Government’s experience to infer that the injustice inflicted on women was caused by certain legislation; (it included some Islamic provisions for women) is a dangerous justification, distortion and fraud that is far from a convincing intellectual research that must be supported by evidence and intellectual evidence on the reality of this injustice, away from a bearded, secular experience that denied these laws, and went on the way of repealing them.

There is no doubt that the Revolutionary Command Council for National Salvation (RCCNS-Sudan) government did not apply Islam, and whatever Shariah rules in the Personal Status Law that have sensitivity and specificity, it could not help but to keep them, which enrages the enemies of Islam and pushes them to demand their change to keep Muslims away from the provisions of their religion so that they can pass their dirty plans by pushing women to demand full equality with men. The government, in turn, will change the laws to allow women to dispose of their life’s affairs with full and unconditional mandate without any restriction of Shariah.

The CEDAW Convention, advocated by these feminist organizations based on secular government, was drafted by the Kuffar with a Western capitalist view, which is legislation by other than Allah. And it calls for vice, obscenity and evil, while the provisions of Islam call for purity and chastity, and preservation of honour and dignity. Those who want to replace texts of CEDAW with the Shariah provisions are desiring corruption (according to the feminist organizations), for it is an agreement in which they have unleashed women to the obscene and marry whoever they want, whatever their religion! And that she has the right to terminate the marriage contract whenever she wants, so does this convention protect women's rights?!

O Feminist Societies: You are entities that are alien to our religion and our society, and you are created only by the enemies of Islam, so come back to your senses, and return to the bosom of your Ummah, and leave this nonsense that only bring shame and evil, come back before the day comes when the banner of Islam rises in the Khilafah Rashidah state (righteous Caliphate) on the method of the Prophethood, and on that day those who have made you and those who followed you will disown you and you will be among the losers in this world and the Hereafter.

O People of Sudan: The transitional government and the feminist societies on the basis of Western civilization seek to spread dissolution in your society, and eliminate religious values and beliefs that nurture and preserve women so do not give them an opportunity to implement what their masters want.

O Muslims: Demanding the implementation of CEDAW means abolishing the Shariah provisions related to marriage, divorce, polygamy, and equality in inheritance. In addition, CEDAW reinforces the belief that there are no differences between males and females, and implanted the term “gender” to affirm this concept in the social and intellectual structure of the society, by establishing homosexuality and eliminating traditional marriage between men and women, undermining the natural family, and considering that family, motherhood and traditional marriage are one of the reasons for women's oppression and constitute a burden on them!
