Those Who Did Not Die from War Bullets Died in Government Shelters!

Sudan Tribune reported yesterday, Saturday, July 27, 2024, quoting a statement issued by the Preparatory Committee of the Sudan Doctors Syndicate, which stated: "The Preparatory Committee of the Doctors Syndicate said in a statement received by Sudan Tribune that the displaced people in Kassala are living in dilapidated tents and surrounded by water on all sides, and their children are crying from hunger. It added that the situation has tragically worsened, as two children died as a result of electric shocks, and there are deaths due to snake bites and other unknown causes."

What the displaced people are exposed to due to the war in the so-called safe states is a horrifying matter, they have become like someone seeking refuge from the frying pan into the fire! Those of them who did not die from the bullets of war died in government shelters that lack the most basic necessities of life, where the displaced people are always placed in places that are not suitable for human habitation! What is happening in Kassala is a glaring example of the inhumane treatment that was given to the displaced people, where they were placed in dilapidated tents as mentioned in the statement, and worse than that, the shelter is a low place where rainwater collects, which later causes diseases and epidemics. The displaced people are already suffering from food shortages, and diseases are spreading as a result of the deteriorating health conditions, and we are now at the beginning of the autumn season and the rains are just beginning, so if the government does not move to find an alternative shelter suitable for the displaced people, the matter will be catastrophic in every sense of the word.

We in Hizb ut Tahrir in Wilayah Sudan hold the federal government and the government of Kassala State fully responsible for what happened and is happening to the displaced people in the shelter areas in Kassala and we demand that they take immediate action to remedy the situation, as this is a religious duty upon them and is not a favor from them. The ruler in Islam is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock, as stated in the authentic hadith: «...وَالْإِمَامُ الَّذِي عَلَى النَّاسِ رَاعٍ وَهُوَ مَسْؤُولٌ عَنْ رَعِيَّتِهِ»“Each of you is a shepherd and each of you is responsible for his flock.” What is happening in our country in terms of lack of care is due to the absence of Islam under its state. If we had a state based on Islam, such tragedies would not have happened to the people, because the Khalifah (Caliphate) would have provided decent shelter for the displaced, food, medicine, and clothing. In fact, such a cursed war would not have taken place in the first place.

O People of Sudan Everywhere, especially those displaced by the ravages of war: There is no salvation for you except by working with those who work to establish Allah’s law on earth by establishing the second Khilafah Rasheedah (rightly guided Caliphate) on the method of the Prophethood. It alone will take care of your affairs and provide you with a dignified, secure, and reassuring life. Above all, it is the duty of your Lord (swt) who has made it obligatory for you to rule by His Book and the Sunnah of His Messenger (saw).

[يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اسْتَجِيبُوا لِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ إِذَا دَعَاكُمْ لِمَا يُحْيِيكُمْ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللهَ يَحُولُ بَيْنَ الْمَرْءِ وَقَلْبِهِ وَأَنَّهُ إِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ]

“O believers! Respond to Allah and His Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life. And know that Allah stands between a person and their heart, and that to Him you will all be gathered.” [Al-Anfal 8:24]
