Issue of Ngorongoro:
Challenge Is Capitalism Not Masai Community
Following the government's move to evict Masai pastoral community from Ngorongoro crater areas, we at Hizb ut Tahrir / Tanzania denounce and disagree with such evil move, and further we would like to clarify the following:
-
The Ngorongoro conflict between the government and the Maasai community is the result of colonial capitalist policies in developing nations including Tanzania, which have plunged those countries into abyss of incessant conflicts, such as economic like this, but also on political and social issues. Developing nations blindly imitate capitalist approaches being imposed by big capitalist countries, as result caused tensions with their own citizens.
-
The capitalist point of view of ‘benefit’ regards growth of population of members of the pastoral community with their livestock as challenge, but in the real sense they are not. Since human survival has to be prioritized then wildlife.
-
Capitalism is confused in all of its fundamental aspects and its solutions, within this context it has muddled in terms of ownership in the economy, whereby it allows to privatize public properties such as game craters, large rivers, lakes, beaches etc., which in nature are public utilities of the entire community.
-
Through the capitalist idea of 'freedom of ownership', public properties are grabbed and exploited in the name of foreign investment being entrusted to individuals, companies or even the state.
-
Concepts of 'freedom of ownership’ and 'foreign investments' are highly toxic, dangerous and exploitative for humanity, especially to developing countries. They lead not only to private ownership of survival resources that their unavailability to the community causes it to disperse in search of them. But also they strain developing countries into vulnerability to foreign interferences granting capitalist multinational companies access to monopolize the country's sensitive resources with the helping hands of rogue government officials.
-
Critics state move to Masai community of Ngorongoro among politicians especially oppositions and activists are playing the smokescreening card and deceiving the public, because in one side seemed to disagree to Masai eviction but in other side they are supporting, propagating and adopting capitalist democratic system that encourages private ownership and foreign investment.
In conclusion, Hizb ut Tahrir Tanzania call upon all with enlightened thoughts to shun away from capitalism in its entirety, replacing it with other system which is Islam under its state, Caliphate (Khilafah).
Islamic fair solutions were implemented throughout the ages and they will be implemented again once Khilafah state returns Insha Allah.
