The Call to European Islam is a New Attempt to Secularize Islam

The attack on Islam did not stop after the assault on Charlie Hebdo Newspaper in Paris last week. As some of the Western media as well as some policymakers have expressed explicitly in the past few days that Islam is a threat, while many politicians of the world spoke implicitly about the problem of Islam. The Prime Minister of the Jewish entity Netanyahu has even called for an international coalition to counter Islamic extremism and to protect the Western civilization.

It is worth noting that many European governments have long been preoccupied with preparing plans and policies for the reformulation of Islam or, more accurately, a new Islam that is consistent with liberal Western values and standards, this in conjunction with the tightening grip on Muslims. Thus in Austria, for example, the Minister of Integration has recently announced that his government will deliver a new law that works to strengthen and tighten procedures against extremism. Whereas in Belgium, there are many voices calling for the so-called European Islam, and in the Netherlands, the government has tightened its procedures to fight extremism through the enactment of oppressive precautionary measures, not to mention the promotion of Dutch Islam being under way.

The calls for the reformulation of Islam are not a product of the moment, but this idea was a reason for studies and research from many years ago, however it did not receive much attention by the Western governments. Since the Western governments have preferred to adopt the policy of integration which leads to the fusion of the Muslims in the community after Muslims' understanding of Islam is weakened over time and they disband from about it and leave abiding by it. However, all these attempts have failed miserably. So despite the frantic efforts to prevent the wearing of the Khimar (veil) in some European countries such as Belgium and France, and the continuation to fight other Islamic symbols now and then, Muslims remained steadfast adhering to their Islamic identity. Nonetheless, the policies of the West to weaken Muslims' understanding of Islam continued in order to strike the provisions of Islam and to secularize it. They had established for this purpose the Islamic centers and organizations that are closely linked to the government and prepared Islamic studies to train Imams, or say to mold Imams who conform with the Western thought. However, the policy makers were not content with this, so they saw the need to have access to the largest possible masses of Muslims in the society. Hence the assault on Charlie Hebdo was representing the greatest chance to these politicians in order to push the idea of the reformulation of Islam, and to intensify their efforts to find the so-called European Islam, to be a substitute placebo Islam for Muslims in the West. This explains why the West divides Islam into radical Islam and moderate Islam. As the Radical Islam is not compatible with Islam promoted by the West, therefore the West urged Muslims to stay away from it.

The government has used the media and what it broadcasts of poisons and distortion of Islam, and campaigns of intimidation of Islam in order to put pressure on the Muslim community, and to accept the so-called European Islam. And in order to give it some sort of credibility, it was necessary to be promoted from within the Muslim community, and therefore the government has approached those who influence the Muslims like Imams and preachers to carry out their role in legitimizing this new Islam.

Let it be clear to every Muslim that this entire project is only to derail Muslims from their Deen. Since the so-called reformulation of Islam that is based on the Quranic texts and Ahadith are not valid for every time and place, but were applicable in a specific period only, which means that these texts are not applicable in our time. This is contrary with the decisive principles of Islam, that obligate the application of Islam in every time and place, and necessitate to change everything to agree with Islam, and not to change Islam to agree with the secular thought and Western culture and values as the Western devils want. Therefore the call for European Islam completely contradicts with the Islamic Aqeedah and is only for the secularization of Islam.

Finally, Islam did not come to agree with the current corrupt reality but came to change it. It is not allowed to talk about Islam in the manner that will satisfy human beings, but it must be in the manner that will satisfy the Lord of the humans. So the Muslims in the West must boycott all the satanic projects used by the Western governments, which they aim by them to melt Muslims. They must also, especially in these difficult circumstances, adhere to their Islamic identity, and carry the call to the Deen of Allah with pride and wisdom as did our Prophet Muhammad (saw) without budging an inch from his way.
