Participation in Geneva is a Betrayal to the Revolution
Boycott Geneva in Respect to the Syrian People and the Blood of the Martyrs

Talk is circulating about the countries and organisational bodies that will participate in the Geneva meetings that have been planned to be held on Friday the 29th of January 2016. Special UN envoy to Syria Steffan De Mistura in the press conference that he held on Sunday the 25th of January announced the date of the negotiations. However, he did not talk about the parties that what be participating in an explicit manner and that the participating parties will not be made clear decisively before the day of the meeting on the 29th of January. The taking of such a position has happened before in the previous Geneva meetings.

So Turkey does not want the Democratic Union party to participate in the Geneva 3 meetings and the Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has said, “The presence of the Kurds at the negotiating table is an essential matter and that the negotiations that take place without the Kurds are deficient. However, we are certainly opposed to the participation of the Democratic Union party and the People protection units”. The Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu also said, “Turkey will never participate in Geneva if the Democratic Union party participates, meaning it will boycott them”.

We in Hizb ut Tahrir in the Wilayah of Turkey have the role to present to the public opinion our opinion in respect to the political backdrop of the Geneva negotiations and so that we can present our opposition to the Turkish rulers in respect to the stance that they have taken towards these negotiations.

1 – The Geneva negotiations which began in June 2012 are part of the ugliest and dirtiest American plan to preserve the regime of the Baathist party and to restore its legitimacy within the international arena and international community. The near fall of the Baathist party regime in mid-2012 terrified America, it feared for its plaything Bashar and so resorted to its dirty plan. Turkey has followed the United States of America since the beginning and it joined the Geneva negotiations despite being aware that it represented a treachery to the Syrian revolution. That is because these negotiations have one objective and one alone, and that is to the make the sincere groups in Syria submit to the Asadi Syrian plans and to impose the plan upon the civilians and Muslims who have been demanding the rightly guided Khilafah "Caliphate", through sieges and huge destruction.

2 – It is America who chooses who will attend and who will not attend whilst there does not exist in reality two parties in these negotiations. That is because the United States of America, Russia, Iran, Saudi, Europe and the regime of the Baathist party are all on one side in reality in respect to the negotiations. The Democratic Union party, even if it isn’t actuality invited to the negotiations, is nevertheless in reality on the same side as America and the Baathist regime. On the other side sits the National Coalition that pretends to be representative of the Syrian revolution despite having no real presence within Syria. Turkey with its empty statements and its insistence upon the non-participation of the Democratic Union party is there to give the impression that it has a role to play within the conference.

3 – That which is obligatory upon the rulers of Turkey to do is clear and evident if they still carry anything in respect to having sympathy for the Islamic revolution that the people of Syria launched, if there remains a trace of respect for the blood of the martyrs that has continued to be spilled throughout the last five years, and if they still carry the remnants of sympathy for what is left of the bodies of the children, fathers and mothers. That which is obligatory for them to do is to not sit upon the negotiating table and to also prevent Khalid Khouja and the rest of the Syrian national coalition representatives, who are knocking their heads together in weakness, fear and humiliation, from attending the negotiations, so as to leave the disbelieving America and the oppressors alone in the meeting. If you were to do that, O rulers, you would gain the support of the Syrian people and all of the Muslims in addition to attaining the pleasure of Allah (swt) by standing alongside the oppressed. That is whilst you will leave your fingerprints upon an unforgettable treachery and betrayal recorded in history if you participate in the conference and sit beside America, so do not ever forget that.

[يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَخُونُوا اللَّـهَ وَالرَّسُولَ وَتَخُونُوا أَمَانَاتِكُمْ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ]

“O you who have believed, do not betray Allah and the Messenger or betray your trusts while you know” [Al-Anfaal: 27].
