Normalization with the Assad Regime is a Complicity in Its Crimes
(Translated)

In his answer to the question: If President Erdogan would meet Bashar al-Assad, Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu replied: “There is no such contact at the moment...For a long time, Putin and Russian officials wanted a meeting between Assad and our president. As for the President of our Republic, he said that the meeting of the Intelligence (apparatus) would be useful”. At the Non-Aligned Meeting held in Belgrade, Cavusoglu stated that the only way out for Syria is political reconciliation, that the terrorists should be purged regardless of who they are, that peace should be established between the moderate opposition and the regime, and that Turkey conveyed to his Syrian counterpart that they can support the regime in this situation. In the joint statement of the Tripartite Summit between Turkey, Russia and Iran held in Tehran on July 19, and in the closing statement of Erdogan's meeting with Putin in Sochi on August 5, and in many other statements he made in the past, it has already been emphasized: the Protection of Syria's territorial integrity, combating all terrorist organizations, and the political solution. The talks, which were conducted at the intelligence level in the past and currently at the level of foreign affairs, are scheduled to develop into direct talks between Erdogan and Assad in the near future. All of this means the burying the more than a decade-old Syrian revolution and giving legitimacy and sovereignty to the Assad regime, which has displaced, massacred, and brutally repressed millions of its people. In addition, the roles that these three countries have assumed throughout this entire process and the gains they have made are already a clear indication of that. Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu revealed this malicious intent in yesterday's press conference where he said: "To prevent the division of Syria, there must be a strong administration in Syria. The will that can control every corner of its territory can only be achieved through unity.”

It is known that the countries of the region, especially the Astana Trio, played a clear role in the survival of the Syrian regime, which America nurtured, developed and revived when it was on the verge of extinction. As for Turkey's role at the table of hungry wolves, it is to infiltrate and seize opposition groups by embracing refugees and gaining sympathy using the discourse of the Ansar (supporters) and Muhajiroon (migrants), and to distract them from fighting the regime under the name of observation points. Under the pretext of fighting the PKK, it won the opposition factions to its side and handed over areas like Aleppo, which they left unprotected, to the regime, and even turned a blind eye to their domination over the exhausted people in Idlib, which eventually led to ensuring that they were seated at the regime’s table in hotel lobbies and meetings halls at the cost of the lives, blood and souls of hundreds of thousands. This is nothing but to guarantee the criminal regime's survival.

Unfortunately, the Turkish government, which suffers from unparalleled weakness and impotence in the pursuit of political interests and economic expectations, especially in the recent period, is raving about the reconciliation of the Syrian people and normalization with the regime, the enemy of its people that completely destroyed it, and the enemy of the children who were killed by torture in Daraa, and the children who were murdered; they were killed, slaughtered and dismembered by the shabiha (thugs) in Homs, and the civilians buried in death pits in Damascus, and the women whose honour was violated, and those who lost their lives under torture in prisons, and the children who died by chemical bombs, and the cities destroyed, and the refugees who were expelled from their lands. Certainly, this is a dangerous game and a humiliating conspiracy that is witnessed by many examples in history, and those responsible for it have never and will never succeed. It is incumbent upon those with reason, understanding and belief to act with awareness towards the dire consequences in this world and fate in the Hereafter, because Allah is Al-Aleem Al-Khabeer (All-Knowing).

[وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ اللّٰهَ غَافِلاً عَمَّا يَعْمَلُ الظَّالِمُونَ إِنَّمَا يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ لِيَوْمٍ تَشْخَصُ فِيهِ الْأَبْصَارُ]
