International Khilafah "Caliphate" Symposium - "What Kind of Khilafah "Caliphate"?" was a Success

On the occasion of the Khilafah "Caliphate"'s Abolishment on March 3, and during this period of time where the Khilafah "Caliphate" is much-debated; Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Turkey held an international symposium titled "What Kind of Khilafah "Caliphate"?", which was a huge success with the help of Allah (swt) and the participation of Muslims from all four corners of the world.

Being the first symposium throughout the Republic's history to discuss the Khilafah "Caliphate" in all of its aspects, this symposium received high interest from media and NGO representatives as well as from academics, writers and journalists.

The opening speech was held by Mahmud KAR, Head of the Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Turkey. Mahmut KAR stated the following in his speech: "Praise to Allah that today, in this event, we are not going to discuss whether there should or should not be a Khilafah "Caliphate". Because we are not given a preference upon this. Consequently, there is also no dispute about the re-establishment of the Khilafah "Caliphate" among the Muslims. Compared to the past, Muslims today are much more willing about the Islamic Da'wah, and much more conscious about Islam. Today there are Muslims who put their heart and soul into the work for the Khilafah "Caliphate", and who are yearn for it, Alhamdulillah. This is why we determined this symposium's title "What Kind of Khilafah "Caliphate"?". The presentations of our estimable lectors from Turkey and across the world will bring the West's efforts to blacken and discredit the Khilafah "Caliphate" to nothing."

During the first session of the symposium, journalist and author Mustafa OZCAN talked about "The Status of the Muslims after 3 March 1924 and Second Khilafah "Caliphate"", author Dr. Mehmet Kursat ATALAR, answered to "Is a State Necessary in order to Live Islam?". M. Ismail YUSANTO, Director of Shar’iah Economy & Management Institute in Indonesia, explained the "The Importance of the Khilafah "Caliphate" for Muslims", M. Hanefi YAGMUR, Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Turkey Central Contact Committee Member, clarified "The Khilafah "Caliphate" - A Historical Institution or a Shari Hukm?".

The second session handled the issues related to the topic "What Kind of Khilafah "Caliphate" Demands the Ummah?", Selahattin YAZICI, TIYEMDER Honorary President elucidated "Is the Muslims' Controversy an Obstacle to the Unity?". Abdulkadir SEN from Marmara University - Institute of Middle East Researches answered "Why Does the West Stand Against Islam and the Rise of Khilafah "Caliphate"?". Dr. Muhammed MALKAWI, Dean of Engineering Faculty from Jadara University in Jordan explained "The Resurgence of Khilafah "Caliphate": Shari Inevitability and Political Reality?". Islamic author Abdurrahim SEN talked about "Legitimate Governing According to Islam/Khilafah "Caliphate" Rashidah on the Way of Prophethood".

In addition, journalist and author Ahmet VAROL, Imam and Lecturer Sheikh Issam AMEIRA from al-Quds, Palestine and Fazl HAMZAYEV, Head of the Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir in Ukraine held welcoming speeches. We as Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Turkey offer our gratitude to everyone from Turkey and abroad who accepted our invitation, who supported us with their duaa and those who work with all their efforts for the re-establishment of the Second Khilafah "Caliphate" Rashidah (Caliphate) upon the Method of Prophethood.
