Obituary of Another Martyr in the Prisons of Uzbekistan
(Translated)

It is with great sadness and pain that we mourn to the Muslims of our country, and to the entire Islamic Ummah, another worthy person who joined the caravan of the Hizb’s martyrs and journeyed to the highest companions. Yesterday, May 30, at 10 a.m. Tashkent time, the funeral prayer was performed for Valiyev Hamidullah. One of our mature political scientists (known as Dwamla Qalanfur) from Tashkent, was martyred after 25 years of injustice. The Uzbek regime has not stopped executing loyal scholars from our country for 25 years in prisons. This time, in order to hide its crime, the Uzbek regime handed over the body of the professor, who was a wonderful example of steadfastness and courage, to his family in a hideous manner. On the morning of May 28, his relatives received a phone call from the prison informing them that they had to come immediately, and that the professor had become ill. When they went, the doctors at the hospital said they were documenting the process of releasing the body. As it turned out, although the professor died four days ago, they transferred him to the city hospital and connected the patient to life support. It is worth noting that a week before his death, news was spreading about increasing repression in the prison where our brother was serving his sentence...

We express our deepest condolences to the family members, relatives and all brothers of this honorable man, and we say once again that Professor Hamidullah was one of the scholars who truly deserved the title of heirs of the honorable prophets without any exaggeration. After all, at a time when thousands of scholars serve the oppressive regimes created by the colonial infidels in Muslim countries and justify their un-Islamic policies, the value of our divine scholars like Hamidullah is becoming more recognized. Look at the wisdom of Allah Almighty. Ustaadh Hamidullah has become one of Allah’s conclusive arguments against the men of the religious administration in our country. Mufti and imams of mosques. How do these imams, led by the Mufti, justify their betrayal of Islam and Muslims?! How will they be when they return to Allah, when divine scholars like Hamidullah stand before them? Their faces will be directed to the ground. Will they pay attention before their souls depart one day?! Although our Ustaadh Hamidullah had the opportunity to live comfortably, with various blessings, food, and clothing, he did not accept to sell his worldly life for his religion. Despite all this, the professor, like other oppressed people, spent a quarter of a century of his life in inhumane prison conditions and physical and psychological pressure, and yet he did not forget his covenant with Allah Almighty.

[مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عَاهَدُوا اللهَ عَلَيْهِ فَمِنْهُم مَّن قَضَى نَحْبَهُ وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَنتَظِرُ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا تَبْدِيلاً]

“Among the believers are men who have proven true to what they pledged to Allah.¹ Some of them have fulfilled their pledge ˹with their lives˺, others are waiting ˹their turn˺. They have never changed ˹their commitment˺ in the least.” [Al-Ahzab 33:23]

We ask Allah Almighty to place our brother Hamidullah in the Afterlife with the master of martyrs, Hamza bin Abdul Muttalib, may Allah be pleased with him, and to dwell him in the spacious gardens of paradise that he promised to those who were martyred in his path! It should be noted that the sacrifice of these divine scholars will never be wasted, neither in this world nor in the Afterlife. There is no doubt that their way of life, which has become a model of steadfastness, only serves the great goal, which is the victory of Islam and Muslims, because this is the established Sunnah of Allah in the struggle between Truth and Falsehood. Allah Almighty says:

[ذَلِكَ وَلَوْ يَشَاءُ اللهُ لَانتَصَرَ مِنْهُمْ وَلَكِن لِّيَبْلُوَ بَعْضَكُم بِبَعْضٍ وَالَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَلَن يُضِلَّ أَعْمَالَهُمْ * سَيَهْدِيهِمْ وَيُصْلِحُ بَالَهُمْ * وَيُدْخِلُهُمُ الْجَنَّةَ عَرَّفَهَا لَهُمْ]

“So will it be. Had Allah willed, He ˹Himself˺ could have inflicted punishment on them. But He does ˹this only to˺ test some of you by means of others. And those who are martyred in the cause of Allah,¹ He will never render their deeds void. He will guide them ˹to their reward˺, improve their condition, He will guide them ˹to their reward˺, improve their condition” [Muhammad 47:4-6].
